@elad54chris64 I too have been on both sides and have no clue what you are talking about. A union will protect your job from predatory employers ensure fair pay, medical benefits and provide a good retirement and anuity package. And all that equals to a better standard of living. Unfortunately non-union people are at the will of their employers and their connections to the local labor board. And the intimidation comes from employers who would rather put an illegal mexican behind the wheel.

I was there during this mess as one of the replacement (Green Team drivers), we were the professionals taking the high road preserving their (teamsters) jobs so that when their little tantrum was over they would still have work. Waste Management is largely NON union because we do not NEED these parasites doing to us what they did to GM, Ford, Chrysler and the airlines! If you are non union, STAY THAT WAY!

My experience has only been with the teamster drivers union.They have been trying to get a contract at my company for over a year now.I don't know enough about other unions to answer your question.Nothing I've seen so far,would make me want to sign one of their cards.

Yet, none Teamsters per say and I totally agree that that last thing we need these days is to have our work places opened to violence. I was wondering, however, whether you felt this was a Teamster issue ( the physical-ness of it at-least ) or a broader Union issue?

No. He got out safe. Was actually unloading the trash when the shot went in to the cabin. I don't think the shooter really wanted to hit the driver. Seemed he just wanted to scare the water out of him and the WM.
