  • I want to buy this movie and i want the version that does not have edited scenes that the stupid american version does.....so i want to get the UK version right?

  • richtofen did actually drop reefs not in such a dramtic way perhaps but its true enough the film makers didnt lie there is footage on youtube to prove it ,,,,but to be honest this film is garbage sorry but it is though they are rigth on the money about french cigarettes love Gitanes , falks from vienna are good to good clip ,,,,

  • That was the last ever war where there was some honour involved. Probably the last ever war where you respected your enemy.

  • @NathanH97 What? Where do you draw that?

Do you not know about the Battle of the Somme? Or No mans land?

  • @NathanH97 I guess it was because you did fight individually and therefore viewed the enemy as an individual instead of the faceless collective of a group ?

  • this song inspires me to do anything!

    R.I.P Manfred Von Richtofen

  • Non l'ho visto ma dev'essere un film grandioso.

  • How air battles are meant to be. Daredevilry, close calls, being able to see your enemy's face.

  • I like this movie so much better than Flyboys. It takes a more neutral point of view. Also, the flying and special effects are so much more realistic. It's a shame they didn't stick to real events more.

My favorite character is Friedrich Sternberg, such a shame he dies first and he's fictional.

  • Alot of respect for him and for the rest of the heroes in both wars

  • Monterey Media sells the movie, if anyone is interested. I purchased mine from them.

  • @Boelcke1916 they edited the filma lot sadly or someone did, this entire clip on youtube is completely different from my Blu-ray copy released by Monterey Media, almost feel like they edited the film so Canadian born Roy Brown at least beat the Baron once in the film which the original cut never happened, the editing was insanely sloppy, Hawker for example flying 3-4 different airplanes in once scene sloppy. lol

  • I would say this was better than Flyboys. I'd like one of the Jasta flags, but of course you couldn't fly it because people don't know history well and would draw the wrong conclusions. There are people who think the Red Baron had something to do with the NAZIS and yet, he was before they even existed. I do wish that they would have left Goering out of the movie as Manfred appears not to have known him. They could have added a real hero ... Oswald Boelcke.

  • I agree that this is better then Flyboys, it has more fights in it too.

  • Laughable!

  • Red Baron was a huge hero, 80 combat victories. For his side of course.

  • Albatros FTW!

  • The Red Baron > Flyboys

  • Anyone know where I can view this movie online without viruses? or would anyone upload full movie?

  • PEOPLE why do we keep fighting about who shot him down that was like nearly 100 years ago! although we respect the ones who died we dont need to fight about who killed each other and who didnt! jeez aussie canadian airplane anti-aircraft fire No one cares he was shot down and the allies won! its history no one has a time machine!

  • Why is it Hollywood will not allow any decent movie portraying anything decent from the German side in WW1 or WW2 UNLESS it has some pro-Jewish theme? They sure made sure we all see the star of david on the sides of their aircraft. Nothing against the Jewish - but the Jews that own Hollywood really push their own agenda. To the point of mis-portraying histical events.

  • @blumenthol Oh man!!!!

In this scene, all logos of all planes were shown!

Why shouldn't they show also a David Star?

"They sure made we sure we all see", AND FEEL THE CLIMATE of WWI doghfights, and planes colored in many interesting ways.

And maybe a bit of german complex, because of Holocaust...

  • "Are you out of your bloody minds!?!"

    "Yes sir"

"Risking the squadrons planes to attend an enemy funeral"

    "Yes Sir"

"Your talking about a British pilot for Christs sake"

"One of the best in the Royal Flying Corps"

  • Boelcke died tragically on 28 October 1916.

  • is one of them Boelcke? Or is this scene after his death?

  • Is this video the European version? Because I just recently purchased the US version and there are missing scenes. Not to mention there is a lot of editing and jumping around from the battle scenes. For example, this four minute scene is different from what I have.

  • 1:10 to 1:20 is epic the way they just fly out of the could as strait as a knife

  • 2:44 One thing that never ceases to amuse me is how he manage to almost stop midair doing an Immelmann and then in a second accelerate enough to stay right behind the British.

  • gotta love the soundtrack for this movie!

  • he died from getting shot in the chest by an english rifleman on the ground

  • @Colin69972 the shot that killed him was an astrailan aa gunner with a lewis gun

  • @muntham1 ya just some guy on the ground with a rifle

  • @Colin69972 odd that the greatest ace of World War One was killed bygunners on the ground

  • @muntham1 ya the guy must have been a sniper

  • @Colin69972 he wasn't he was part of the royal austrailan artillery corps

  • without a doubt I love Friedrich Sternberg, even tho he is fiction he represents the bravery and honor of the Jewish pilots of The Great War. La Chaim!

  • There was at least one REAL Jewish ace in the German Air Service in WWI.

    Wilhelm Frankl ,20 victories.

  • @Quercusalba2 Yeah thanx brother I was just reading about Leutnant Frankl, he was a great flieger and kamandant of Jasta 4 an Elite squadron. I was also reading that Leutnat Voss was also part Jewish he was amazing also one of the best.

    Take Care and thank you.

  • Actually, there were hundreds of german jewish pilots in Luftwaffe in WWI.

Before Hitler, German was a relatively peaceful place for the jewish.

  • he is one of the greatest pilots

  • Now to a normal comment about the video in general... The fact they didn't use real planes allowed them to make the aircraft as nimble as they were during the actual war, if I saw another lets fly straight and slap in some Blu screen WWI movies I'd die. I also loved the fact the movie was based around the "Legend" of the red baron and not the factual one, because really, our world needs legends, not just facts, sometimes the facts can make you hate the legend, and even the person.

  • can you give me song of red bron please ^^

  • the soundtrack is from dirk reichardt & stefan hansen

  • blue max was pretty acurate id say, no computer graphics thats for sure.

  • magnifique

  • i watched this movie and it was great it have been at least 2 months in finland so i think it should be in UK already

  • if pilots could only really fly like a computer program. all this mis information just for entertainment is damn wrong.

  • you're right, i've seen this movie too. but... there are so many war movies, full of historical inaccuracies... and this seems the only one, somebody care about. maybe not the best movie, but it's o.k.

  • its better than flyboys were the germans have ALL red tri planes nad the allies all grey nieports.

  • learn reading^^ nobody said something about flyboys, by the way: i think its already known, that flyboys is crap.

the tri planes are the fokker dr.1... and yes, its nonsense that all of them are red. special paint scemes were only allowed to aces, all other aircraft had there "normal" camo-scemes.

and i say it again, there are better warmovies (in general!).

  • @JTelli786 and the germans looked like monsters in flyboys witch i hate....

  • @jasincl In Red Baron, you can see a bit of ridiculous scenes, but I can agree - Flyboys were COMPELETELY ridiculous!!!!!

This looked like some kind of theatre, or maybe soap opera... :p

  • It isn't really accurate, the battles are a bit umm.. ya, though what First World War movie was ever accurate? None, this is perhaps th eonly one where planes woudl actually perform insane stunts in, because using the real thing... even a stunt pilot for film would be suicidle to do in these old style planes, more pilots died from crashes than actually getting shot from the sky all WWI films with the real deal the planes perform nonthing like they could, for safety reasons.

  • i ve watched this movie and it is a big deception, this trailer is more exiting than the movie. Richtofen spends half of the film winning about war and being pansy. Theres no scene where he shoots an airplane only random images of his circus air battles. you can't tell when his fellow friends are shooting or being shot. The only part that its ok is when he toss the crown in the funeral but other than that is shit. Is more a romantic story than an action one.

  • i know, i know. i've read about it historical inaccuracies (enough to drive me insane). please, tell me more.

  • Whens it out in UK?

  • This is best scene of red baron movie!
