It is Bethany Joy Galeotti. A lot of the music that is on YouTube is not avaliable for purchase anymore. She just released a single on iTunes and other online music stores called Quicksand. Also her Mission Bell album with Everly is also on iTunes and cdbaby. Her earlier solo songs were independent releases, so they can't be bought.

i read somewhere that alot of the songs she sings are for one tree hill and there are ownership problems and stuff idk, shes doesnt belong to a record label i think im not sure though

she was actually going to release this song on a full lenght album with Epic records but then there were changes there and then i'm not sure if she was dropped or if she chse to leave the label.

Yeah but a lot of record companies dont actually care about real music. They'd rather have someone who will be popular in the charts and can make them a lot of money (even if theyre talentless) than someone whose different and actually cares about her music. And apparently Joy refused to sell out so they dropped her :( It really sucks, but at least its better than her dancing around on tv in a bikini and lip-synching to a meaningless song she didnt even write like so many people do

very true... for some artist i can deal with that but for some i just can't. i'm glad Joy didn't go that route and stayed true to herself and her music, still i wish they'd at least let her have the rights so the fans can buy her music. it is really disheartening though when artist sell out, Kelis was one like that for me. her 1st album was incredible and she was so deep, then she bought into the crap and was singing in a bathing suit and leaning over counters talking about milkshakes.

Really? Ive never heard any of Kelis's music apart from the milkshake type songs but that really sucks. But luckily Joy isnt that interested in the fame and money of it all anyway so I doubt it will happen with her :) You're right though its disheartening when talented people do that :(

oh yeah her first album was fantastic... it was really deep and meaningful, her songs were like music for your soul and then she just went mainstream and sold out who she was IMO. that's why i have so much respect for Joy because she stays true to herself and to her music.
