Everytime the crew goes back to the past they do something that changes the future and that's why the radios appear. Where the radio appears represents where Gary and his apprentice were. Once you complete the EE they get out and there is no more radios. That's why you hear different things that contradict the other radios when hearing a radio at a certain time.
