I like Don Lemon and have a lot of respect for him. HOWEVER, I completely dis-agree with his statement of labeling people that don't date a particular race as racist.
If you are not attracted to a particular physical type and they happen to be of asian decent, then it is what is. I don't care how sweet, loving and caring the person is. That's like labeling all gay men as SEXIST, because they are not physically attracted to women. EMOTIONAL and PHYSICAL go hand in hand in a REAL relationship.
Don is gay. Does he want an academy award? Who cares if he is gay. Just report the news or quit the job! This is anal.
Homosexuality is a mental illness. If men started sticking knives in their eyes, would that be a mental illness? Yes.
The rectum or anus, or butt hole, is used to release the waste from the human body. Homosexuals are putting penises and other foreign objects in the anus (butt hole), and then saying they are in love with the man who they are having sex with. This is sick!
I have so much respect for this brother. I think Lemon personifies what being a real man is all about. Honest, transparency, straighforwardness and courage are the qualities he displays and a whole society, as well as gay persons, are being helped by his demeanor. Voila.
@ButchinDetroit I would've agreed somewhat with that assertion too, had he not thrown the entire black community under a bus in order to generate an interest in his book.
@bajabenca He's black and he's gay, so he was merely speaking n his experiences and from his point of view. Are all blacks homophobic, of course not, but many black children are raised to hate homosexuals because of their faith. Many blacks pretend to be so religious and Christian; however, they will accept fornication, children out of wedlock, and in some cases will protect and defend rapists and child molestors like Bishop Eddie Long and R Kelly ect. but homosexuals? Hell no!
@ThePharaoho Actually, blacks didn't support OJ for what he may have did. They supported him because of the underlying racial tension surrounding the case. No, I don't think it's right that homosexuals are scrutinized in the black community. But don't act as if there is a "Gay Therapy" clinic on every corner in the neighborhood.
@bajabenca Yes, they did support him because of race, but are black homosexuals not black also, and isn't homosexuality racialized toward blacks? "Undercover brothers, down low men ect;" furthermore, the problem is there isn't an "acceptance of differences" clinic on every black corner. Everytime someone goes or does something out of the "black box" they're always considered sell outs or fake, and they are almost always certainly scrutinized by the Afro-American community.
@ThePharaoho "Black box?" There is no set cultural standards set that any black person should act or become. Second, the only reason that homosexuality is slightly taboo in the black community is because of misinformation and strict beliefs. That doesn't mean that they are incapable of changing because they really are starting to. Third, "downlow men" are a very over publicized segment of the gay black community. Even conventional black gays don't like them.
@bajabenca That was my point, I agree with everything you said, except the cultural standards. You can ignre it if you will, but my experiences say otherwise. I was picked on for speaking proper English and when I hung out with my white firnds, my black friends and family wouls talk about me behind my back I would later find out. Then they actually confronted me about that. When I became a Buddhist my family and friends almost went into cardiac arrest, they were so disappointed.
@ThePharaoho ROTFLMAO! In reference to your Buddhist comment, hilarious. Ultimately, you have to take the path you're comfortable with. Initially they'll be fealful, but they'll come around. As much as I love the black community, one thing that irks me is a certain sense of complacency about certain things. I too have gotten the "you sound like a white person." So? Which one of us is going to have a better chance at the same job position? Slayed. I also love how it set me apart from others.
He is suck a respectful man! How can you not respect Don Lemon? He is a real black MAN!

@bajabenca Also many blacks will support murderers too, like OJ Simpson, but will hate and damn homosexuals. Is that right?
