  • @mdtread.... The last comment was 3 yrs ago, so I don't expect an answer. Anyway, I don't know which of your videos is the continuation of this video because you don't label them like "pt 1, pt 2, pt 3" etc.... Also, your weaving with the rod tip looks very very sporadic and not consistent. Please don't take my critique personal. It's just what I saw in your vid. No stable pattern with the rid tip. Makes me wonder why you didn't show us the finished weld.

  • are you turning the pipe at the same time while you weld..?

  • Thanks for the kind comments. That rod is easy to burn through and the stops don't usually accumulate too much slag. If I was welding with some 7018 or similar, I would most likely chip or buff the starts and stops as well as maybe even grind a bit on the starts especially. Get on at my website and receive an ebook just for stopping by plus inside stuff that not everyone gets on the internet. Some things only go out to my list of subscribers through my site!! Thanks again, Michael!

  • sir, what is your website's add?

  • Isn't it a big no no to do restarts without removing the slag?

  • You can burn through the slag, obvioulsy if it was gonna be x-ray'd he would probably knock off the slag but hell he's just doing a little demonstration. Good job MD, great video!
