@sandune See, that's what I don't get!! When you sell your soul, you still have it but it belongs to someone else, so they get it when you die.

If Sam doesn't have his soul AT ALL, isn't he a walking carcass?! According to Supernatural lore, your essence is your soul, hence the ghosts. And that's why Dean was walking through walls after the accident.

How can Sam be Sam without his soul?!
