@rykmc1 thanks man yea i bought it like that for 500 bucks. the only thing i bought was the dg pipe and i also have the dg silencer. I put the stock exhuast back on it and its plenty fast and powerful. the dg head raises compresion and i have porting done as well so im kinda forced to mix 50/50 race and pump fuel but its all good.
You got some uncommon goodies that people would give there left nut for, that head for one and that shock with the linkage and dual stage spring and adjustable resevoir is another, shock alone is worth what you paid for the whole bike, congrats epic score!

But when i heard about the shock i was like woh lol. I've had some one offer me $550 for the shock while i was out riding and i said naw. hahaha Thanks for appreciating an old but tried and true legend.

The farthest north ive been and will go is Oceano Dunes. I ride mainly in Johnson Valley OHV and Rasor Road OHV, All in the San Bernardino County Deserts. Ive also been to glamis(Imperial County), dumont dunes, Staddard wells ohv, And El Mirage ohv(also in san bernardino county) and dove springs(kern county).
dg head? pretty sure the dg's were the anodized heads you deffinatley scored thats got tons of goodies people would die for. That shock is worth more then the what you paid for the bike to most people. almost looks like a different linkage or something?
@rockinbass01 The head is a dg. I recently rebuilt the top end and the head had D.G. Perf stamped on it. Im curious to know who made the shock. Its the 2nd or 3rd time i heard that my shock is rare. I know the resivoir says fox and the logo is pretty old looking but not too sure.
sick 250r. i bet this shit moves. saw your other vid with the new silencer. sounds awesome. i have the 2010 525s outlaw, love it, but i still want one of these older atc's. cant go wrong with a 2 stroke 250r ATC!!
@bmxdude1995 yea this particular carb has no idle adjusting screw and the throttle cable is a bit longer than it should be. Not re-jetting the carb was a really big mistake on my part as i blew the motors top end back in may. :( Im still going to get her fixed though
No i havent re-jetted the carb yet. i know its simple but i dont know what size jets to get. Any idea? also im getting the silencer soon does this affect jetting as well? As for this particular carb the only down side is that i cant adjust the idle. Ive never riden a stock aircooled so i dont know how much difference it makes. I can tell you this, the bike hauls ass and i love it. It also revs a lot higher with the pipe. I havent taken her out yet with the new pipe though.
to rejet you just have to play around with different jets and make sure its not lean a little rich is great i have a 250r and i rejeted my self and my 82 does about 70 with paddles on
@350twinster yea man thats what ive been told but its a lil late i burned the motor. but i plan on getting another one for the next season though and play with different jets. i must say when its jetted right, its going to scream. im never going to get rid of this true classic

Nice 250r...DG head,38mm carb,hi-flite seat,extended swinger with a aftermarket shock + other goodies...u did well
have u re-jetted the carb yet to suit that DG..you dont want to have a melt down.
How you like that mikuni 38mm carb? Im thinking about upgrading from the 30mm flatslide carb to a 38mm flatslide on my 83 250r..

I can tell you this, the bike hauls ass and i love it. It also revs a lot higher with the pipe. I havent taken her out yet with the new pipe though.
