i was fortunate to have seen MF 68 times, and have one of his played horns, which was a wonderful gift! he always gave it his all whenever i saw him! what a privilege to have seen him and been around him during my teenage and college years! incredible humble showman!!! love live MF and his passion for music!!
I got to see MF a couple of times as a teenager in the 70s. I got to see Buddy Rich and his big band a couple of times as well. Oh, and even Stan Kenton in his last years. All three continued to re-load their bands with young guys, some fresh out of high school. These bands could swing hard. Thanks for posting.

Good music but, I think they missed the spirit of the piece. Maynard is a trumpet king but, there comes a time to tone it back a bit.

LOVING this! Wish I could have seen him perform live, one of my biggest regrets is never getting the chance :( his legacy lives on though :)
