I was planning to be a missionary - my goal was to translate the bible with Wycliff. I took classes in old testament, new testament - took Greek for two years. It was the intensive, purposeful, faithful study of the scriptures that turned me away from god. - in no small part due to glaring contradictions.

The days of creation are NOT solar days of 24 hours each day. God created the sun on the 4th day; which means that the first 4 days were not solar. Moreover, the Scriptures do not mention that the 7th day has ended. So since Adam and Eve, we've been living in the 7th day, which will end at the general ressurection and end of times. Therefore the "days of creation" are unlimited periods of time(1 moment/millions of years)! Our problem has humans is that we try to comprehend the imperceptible!

No where in the bible does it say the Earth was created in 6, 24 hour days. Jesus is the light of the world. Hence, the light source. Bible says in the beginning God created heaven AND earth. The sun is a light source, but not THE source.

With all due respect, I disagree. Please notice that the Qur'an clearly states that the moon only reflects the light of the sun of does not have a light of its own. You can refer specifically to Ayah 61 of Surah 25 [i.e Qur'an 25:61]. The Arabic word used for the moon is qamar and it is described in the Qur’an as muneer, which is a body that reflects nur i.e. light.

I just read in the bible and it just describes the moon as "the lesser light to rule the night". How do you get that it gives its own light? Is there another verse I missed? Could it be the lesser light because because it only reflected light?

I was planning to be a missionary - my goal was to translate the bible with Wycliff. I took classes in old testament, new testament - took Greek for two years. It was the intensive, purposeful, faithful study of the scriptures that turned me away from god. - in no small part due to glaring contradictions.

atheist are disperatley trying to make us ignorants like them but rejecting god... they poke their noses in every vid just to make comments and not argue...it's obvious that a criminal when he goes to jail he'll feel secure if he's not alone...trying to convince himself that atleast he's not the only stupid one out there...but yet they strengthen our faith in Allah and more over they show us how illogical they are and if they just used 2% of their brains they'll get to know the truth:)

Infinite time implies that, eventually, you will have done EVERYTHING POSSIBLE hundreds, thousands, millions, etc., times over. Sure, it might be fun for 100 billion years. But eventually, you will have to realize that those 100 billion years are but a drop in a bottomless bucket of time. Heaven and Hell are the same thing, PRISONS OF TIME.

An easy example is the Buddhist. They are also atheists (they don't believe in a god). They do make supernatural claims however. Claims require evidence. Without evidence there's no reason to believe the claim. Belief in a claim without evidence is willful ignorance. Provide me evidence (not a book) for your god.

I haven't read the Quran, and I don't plan to. There are claims of prophecy in every religion. People take a vague message and twist it to fit an event. I could pick up a Harry Potter book and find something I can make a prophecy of. Something will eventually happen that I can fit to the prophecy. I don't buy it.

@qwerty0019: Anaxagoras (c. 500 BC – 428 BC) was the first to explain that the moon reflects the light of the sun. This knowledge predates the Qur'an. I have even taken the time to email Zakir Naik about this, but he has never taken the time to correct the ignorance he is spreading.

After so many years believing the "Bible" was the word of God, I WOKE UP...finally.
This happened when my college education Enlightened Me. To me the bible was written by a bunch of deluded psychos. According to the scriptures God created plants and vegetation before creating the sun. For any rational person who has studied this claim in Genesis is big time BULSHIT. Trees cannot live without sunlight. Bible=nonsense!

How was there evening and morning BEFORE God even created the sun?

When a person talks of "struggle" against there "fleshly" (i.e.,sin) nature, they are still speaking of trying to address the problem of sin and alienation from God under their own power & based on their own merit. Jesus explains however, they unless one is born again of the Water & Spirit they cannot see God/the Kingdom. We also know by the works of the Law shall no flesh be justified. Apart from faith & the righteousness of Christ the 'jihad' is worthless

Granted the Quran is much better written than the bible, but its got its flaws as well.
The lord of the rings is much better written then both of them if you are going to base belief on that though :)

The days of creation are NOT solar days of 24 hours each day. God created the sun on the 4th day; which means that the first 4 days were not solar. Moreover, the Scriptures do not mention that the 7th day has ended. So since Adam and Eve, we've been living in the 7th day, which will end at the general ressurection and end of times. Therefore the "days of creation" are unlimited periods of time(1 moment/millions of years)! Our problem has humans is that we try to comprehend the imperceptible!

No where in the bible does it say the Earth was created in 6, 24 hour days. Jesus is the light of the world. Hence, the light source. Bible says in the beginning God created heaven AND earth. The sun is a light source, but not THE source.
I could go on and on, but he provides no explanation. He makes assumptions based off his biased point of view. How can you believe someone who initial argument is based on assumption???

With all due respect, I disagree. Please notice that the Qur'an clearly states that the moon only reflects the light of the sun of does not have a light of its own. You can refer specifically to Ayah 61 of Surah 25 [i.e Qur'an 25:61]. The Arabic word used for the moon is qamar and it is described in the Qur’an as muneer, which is a body that reflects nur i.e. light.

See ye not how Allah has created the seven heavens one above another,
and made the moon a light (noor) in their midst,
and made the sun as a lamp (siraaj)?
If you wish to claim scientific facts from this verse you better be able to justify 7 heavens as well as the wording of the moon being a light.
Also at the time this verse was written Aristotle had already assessed the moons light to be reflected. Sounds hardly like divine inspiration...

I have a couple of examples.
One example of contradiction in the Qur'an would be the issue of alcohol.
16:67 says to derive strong drink from grapes (i.e. wine), 2:219 says in strong drink lies great sin.
Another would be: How long is a day for Allah? (analogous to your first point in this video)
22:47 and 32:5 both say a day for Allah is 1,000 years, but 70:4 says it is 50,000 years.
I look forward to hearing your explanation of these contradictions in your own holy book.

How about this: at 2:132 the Qu'ran states that Abraham and Jacob were part of the "true religion" (therefore muslims). Then at 7:143 it states that Moses was the FIRST "true believer" therefore FIRST Muslim. And Then at 39:12 Mohammed says that HE is the FIRST Muslim.

a problem is that muhammad himself believed in the torah and gospels, would the last prophet believe in the gospels if he himself being a prophet believe them being false. if muhammad accepted them so should everyone. if we can change the gospels that means men are more powerful then god himself, because hes allowed the new testemant to changed but the old testament not?? does not make sense. the whole of the old testament is about jesus coming, then when he arrives, its a fairy tale of events?

@sundoeco The Gospels people have today are not the Gospels that were given to Jesus (peace be unto him) by Allah, the gospels of today came after Jesus (peace be unto him) went to heaven and the gospels of today were written by men some 90 years + after Jesus (peace be unto him) went to heaven and complied at 300+ years so how can you say that what is mentioned in the qur'an about the scripture of before is the same of today, they have been lost or changed whichever one suits
