Well of course not! The entire infrastructure of the nation (and most of the planet) has been built around technologies and fuel supplies that were developed at the end of the Victorian era and consolidated ever since, in the short-sighted viewpoint that oil and coal deposits are going to last forever. I hardly know anyone who is 100% "green" either,... and its not anyone's fault.. we can only buy what's available... and most people aren't inventors or tech savvy.
5 stars. When we get cold summers and cold winters, and China and other places experience similar, and folks point out that some of the weather monitoring stations have been sited in some choice positions, such as outside air cond ducts, you still get some folks clinging to the desire to have a global government funded by carbon tax. As though if you have a world government it'll solve anything more than any other gov. Club of Rome came up with the idea of Global Warming. Cheers
It looks as if there are a bunch of folks here who don't know the difference between "climate" and "weather". The Earth is warming up, at an unprecedented and accelerating rate. What remains unknown is how much of this trend due to natural causes, and how much is due to industrial activity.
Global warming is the statistics of the *globe's* overall average temperature and its long-term trends, as moving averages. Greenland is not the entire planet, in case you thought otherwise. The average temperature of the *globe* is on the rise, according to every proper peer-reviewed climatological survey out there. "Surveys" by vested interests in the fossil-fuel energy industry and non-scientists like Rush Limbaugh and talk radio hacks do not count as science.. that's faith-based drivel.
Greenland is colder than the 1930's. Antarctic ice shelf has grown since the 1970's but Arctic ice has shrunk yet Greenland still has it's warmest time 70-80 years. Yes, some things do need questioning?
Surveys by vested interests of global warming proponents do not count as science either.
Just remember, every major 'global' climate prediction in the last 100 years has ended up being wrong.
If the earth is warming at a tiny rate, it's not manmade. What caused the ice age to end? Factories?
There are a few glaciers that are expanding (for example, in the Cascade range in the Western US and arts of the Rocky Mountains, not from cooling temperatures (as has been suggested by the deniers), but as a result of increased snowfall at high altitudes, caused by a change in precipitation distribution patterns and more moisture/latent heat energy at latitudes subject to ocean currents originating in the tropics carrying warm waters polewards.
The earth is warming up: statistics have established this beyond a shadow of a doubt. What is not clear is the human factor which could be anything between 0% and 100%. Though unlikely... if the diagnosis of human input is *100% WRONG*, it would be the best thing for humanity to embark on new means of energy generation, and discard our 100 year old+ stone age fossil-fuel technology infrastructure ASAP. When we can quit the oil and coal addiction, the world will be a better place for all.

Exactly. The 'greenies' complain and use what the rest of us that don't do.
A true 'greenie' would live without use of the things they say pollute etc. They are therefore hypocrites who moan, protest and create havoc without changing the very thing they protest about, which is unfortunate but sadly true.
In fact tech savvy has nothing to do with it. If fossil fuels pollute a real environmentalist would walk, bike or use a horse but they don't = hypocrite. If they don't cut back why do they expect the rest of us to?
there is no global warming, well not caused by the humans anyway, its a scam run by al gore. the globe is actualy cooling and has been scientificly proven.
No increase of carbon dioxide in the air due to man. ever. Due to photosynthesis!

it is always below zero temps in areas of Scotland .Boxing day was -19 this is not unusal last year i remember -25 but is never officially recorded.
If we got these temps in the middle of summer it would be unusual but not in WINTER

Climate is the statistics of the weather. The planet is heating up??? Yet Greenlands warmest decades on record were the 1930's and 1940's!!
Care to explain.

This is what all environmentalists say before they switch on their lights (coal/nuclear) or take a drive in their petrol powered carbon emitting cars!
I haven't found a 100% true 'green' person in existance yet.
