This songs breaks my heart everytime I hear it. It was played at my brothers memorial service when he died from Aids in '93. He thought God had turned his back on him because of his lifestyle. 2 days before he passed, a hospice chaplain helped him realize that the Lord loves us all, and my brother was forgiven. He was saved by the grace of God that day. He was terrified of death until then. But God was with him and died peacefully. I can only imagine how he felt as he entered Heaven that day.
You know, there were several gods that existed before jesus, that all had the same basic life story as Jesus. Christianity is plagiarism, (that means it was stolen). The story was stolen and slightly modified from the old world pagan religions. Look it up! It is really sad people still believe in this crap. Says alot about the intelligence of our species. It is a PROVEN FACT that religious people have a lower IQ level than non-religious. Look that up too!
Thank you this is one of my favorite song since I was a teenager it stll my favorite now. thanks for our father in Heavens love for us he sent his only one son to died for me.God bless your ministry thru musics.
No one sings this song any better. They don't even come close. I have seen them sing this in concert many times and each time it gives me chills. Lew sounds so great on this song. I like Jimmy, but Lew was very unique and very talented.
The finest version of this song ever ,ever. Conveys the Majesty and devotion with power and emotion yet it never says " it's all about me" like so many performers do when they sing a gospel song.
I wish this song was easier to find. I had this cassette from when my Great Grandma died, and I can't find it anymore.
For some reason, I could not remember that it was the Statler Brothers version that I liked so much years and years ago. Now that I've remembered it, I must find that cassette!
