@PuffSmelly it doesn't kill any more than any other predator. it only strikes to feed itself and defend itself. it is us who kill for joy. i have quite mixed feelings after reading your comment. i agree with you on the second part, but i don't agree with the first part.
For all who hate venomous snakes - note that the hummingbird is dead WITHIN A MINUTE. Probably one of the quickest and most humane ways to die in the animal kingdom. Awesome snake.
the elash palm viper is the most beautiful animal in my opinion. I saw one at my zoo (I volunteer there) it was in a glass enclosure, and they sprayed water on the walls. The eyelash viper, being a snake that drinks a lot of water, was sipping the dew of the glass walls. Just my favorite animal, right up there with the tapir!
i love this topic :) these snakes defensive strikes were being measured right? what about predatory stikes? also what was the temperature in the room? was it more suited for a sawscale viper or a puff adder? what time of day was it? are they both nocternal? ok lemme go bio engineer some remote control pit vipers!!yeah some borg snakes will solve this debate. lol sry guys theres too many variables we will never know for sure
all ambush style snakes strike fast. strike speed varies from individual to indivitual not just species. snakes tire out fast so repeated strikes would theoretically be slower each time also sawscales gabons and puff adders are very closely related
yeah prolly but i watch viperkeeper if anybody ekse watches him you know hes as expirienced as they get he keeps both gaboons and puffs and he himself said gaboons have the fastest strike and longest fangs
ya those fangs are huge ive seen a 4 footer with its mouth preid open i belive the snake's strike he saw measured was fastest but theres too many variables in the expiriment for me were talking about fractions of a second and also assuming that the same snake will strike the exact same way and speed which would be impossible in the wild. its like trying to determine the most dangerous snake in the world. arguments for that prize would be endless. measuring by deaths? bites? toxicity? temperment?
trust me it's not sped up. It's amazing how fast these guys are and when the video is slowed down you notice how many different movements the snake actually performs while stiking that you can't see in real time

With all these senses and skills animals have, they'd probably consider us humans a JOKE with all the things we lack
ilovetogofast88 1 year ago
@ilovetogofast88 what, aeroplanes, guns, knives, houses, atom bombs the list goes on...
Fenhawk11 1 year ago
@Fenhawk11
Oh, PLEASE! How are ATOM BOMBS a GOOD thing??
ilovetogofast88 1 year ago
@ilovetogofast88 I never said they were a good thing, you just said that we lack alot, when really we don't
Fenhawk11 1 year ago
@Fenhawk11
Well I guess you're right, there are certain things we humans don't lack, like stupidity and laziness
