im building a gaming rig soon, and i was woundering if the coolermaster stacker 830 evolution had enough room for a coolermaster hyper 212 cpu cooler ?
there's nothing to compare, the stacker 830 se or 831 is coolermaster flag ship case. I actually have the same wireless receiver, but no watercooling. my quad is fine on air b/c i dont overclock, i just get the best stock parts out there.

Raptors only help in loading files on and off your hard drive, They do nothing in game play, raid has its problems also because 2 drives act as one so if you lose 1 hard drive you loose all your data on both. With raid, either way you need a third drive as a backup drive.
how bout no, considering when you use a p45 board with crossfire, it makes the pci-e slots 8x, instead of 16x, if youre going to use crossfire use a x48 board. but then again, crossfire is badddd
Not really considering the price vs nvidia. Not only that but the 4870 uses gddr5 memory not gddr3, with xfire you can run multiple monitors, and sli doesnt work with all games.

Sounds like your building a monster!As for the 680i I started out with one from asus and it burnt out right away,The raptor is good in raid but a stand alone raptor is kinda a waste of money, You can get more space with a reg hardrive and cheaper, The psu is plenty unless you go tri or qaud sli, 1000 watt minnimum, The water solutions are nice, I have a reserator its nice because its external, more space to do more things Coolermaster cases are the Rolls Royce of gaming cases.
im thinking of adding water cooling but was wondering if i put too many things in the same loop (2 vga blocks, cpu block, and maybe a bridge block), will it raise temps? is it best to just cool the cpu on watercooling and air cool the rest? new to water cooling, THANKS!
The Reserator can handle all that, Cool your cpu first, worry about the vga later, I will be putting my 3 ultras in the same loop with my cpu soon so i'll let you know how it turns out

Wow i got 10064 3DMarks when i normally get like 12500, thats not gud. Anyways i use thermaltake uv coolant. My temps at the mo are cpu 42 degrees, gpu 59 degrees and system 29 degrees.
Ok, 42 is way to high for cpu, sounds like you have very low flow, I would make sure there is no air in the system, now you mention gpu temp, are they cooled in the same loop? or just cooled by air?
btw my temps are higher since i put my gpu waterblock in. My cpu was 30, gpu 40-50 but now their higher :( I'm gonna get sum different more powerful fans, or sum arctic sliver 5 instead of the paste which came with it or sum different coolant OR ALL 3. What do u think? Which will make the most difference?
well for the gpu, get riva tuner, set fans on fixed 100% that will take care of gpu temp.
how are you monitoring your temps? I recomend a lazer thermometer, most acurate, ambient temp at 65 farenhieght is about 20 celcius, your cpu should never go above anbient, dont run it till you figure it out or boom!
Get rid of nvidia monitor, looks cool but I found it crashes your system, riva tuner is a downloadable free overclocking software, its been around forever and works good, just dont have nvidia monitor and riva installed at the same time, you will crash.........lol

I would get the 8800gtx 512 memory will never be faster than 768 you dont get that much like you think from overclocking these cards in raw fps not to mention you cant have tri sli with gts.

Stan, it might be better for you to wait for Nehalem, it will have triple memory channels integrated to the cpu rathar than the chipset. It is going to smoke skulltrail.
good news 4 u, the 9800 GTX will be supporting tri sli. the 9800 gtx is basically exactly like the gts 512 wich is better and more overclockable than the ultra. plus u also need the 790i wich supports ddr3. also in my opinion i love the cosmos. i dont like the 830 but urs still is one of a kind.

Well check the dimensions of the ulta chill tech peltier cooler, I started with one of those and it fit but not with the fan door.

DDR3 also has higher latencies than ddr2 so it has to run faster to match performance I.E. running hotter and loosing stability.
