It's called a compensator and it expels extra gases and energy, which along with the rubber grip and overall weight give less kick.

The 600 Nitro Express/Magnum is the most powerful handgun in the world. No doubt. Google it. I guarantee you that I am right. I've fired the S&W 500 at my local range twice, and I would be really disappointed if it were the most powerful handgun in the world.

Did u shoot 700gr rounds at your range? I don't think you did because disappointment would not follow. Hell even the 500gr rounds are bigger than what most ppl have shot(out of a pistol)

I just bought one tonight , They a Magnaported. I don't think you could hold it if it was not . This is the same gun used in the new Punisher movie at the end , its black and silver .

Actually it has less recoil than the 44 Magnum. It has a built in compensator. It kicks but not as bad as the big fella is acting. Country time with the beanie could have easily shot it and been alright.

Just got one on friday! they were askin 1149$ so, that and a weaver style rail mount to replace the rear sight and a cheap red dot scope hopefully i can sight this cannon in right before i waste the $46.50 box of 20 rounds i got with it also.

You're right. This gun ISN'T for everyone. I wouldn't go so far as "useless" though. For those that can handle the recoil, it's a really fun gun to shoot. This was our first time shooting it.

You're probably right, I should have clarified. It's useless unless you're shooting an elephant. I know it's too much gun for me to handle and I'm 35 years old and have had a pistol in my hands since I was 7. If I don't see the intelligence in it I guess I automatically think its no good. Some can handle it I'm sure, just not for me.
