  • King Henry and NASA astronauts love fresh Tang....

  • @Hipsishere hah probably

  • Really good preformance as Henry. This is what he looked like, not the handesome man from The Tudors :)

  • King henry = sugar daddy

  • Did Henry actually think a 15 year old would be sexually attracted to him?! God that man's in denial

  • @AnahSkywalker He probably didn't care as long as he could screw her... I bet he loved being king lol

  • Wow! Chop a few heads off, rob a few monasteries, kick the Pope out of England, deflower a few girls, raise a few taxes, and everybody hates you. Tough crowd.

  • Henry VIII was an old paedophile ! lol

  • Yes, Keith Mitchell makes an excellent Henry, portraying the right mix of volatility and self-pity. On the other hand, LOVE Lynne Frederick as Katherine. It must be the most sympathetic portrayal I have ever seen and highlights her vulnerability at the hands of the Howard clan. My favourite portrayal of Katherine by far and this part of the film was much more historically faithful to the real facts than the subsequent tv series.

  • i know keith mitchell the actor i saw him on murder she wrote i like keith as an actor more than angela lansbury.

  • who is the actor thart plays henry?

  • @MyLalinea K Keith Michelle. He is still around. He was often on Murder She Wrote with Angela Lansbury.

  • now i know why she sounds familiar

  • in which movies played lynne frederick? her name sounds familiar but do not know from what.

  • @MyLalinea

She was in films like "Nicholas & Alexandra", "Phase IV", and 1979's "The Prisoner of Zenda"...where she met her husband, Peter Sellers. Pretty lady.

  • @baraxor & Hammer's Vampire Circus

  • My god you'd feel physically sick as well as terrified if Henry VIII showed interest in you. The actor is amazing as Henry VIII though =)

  • I loved this film when I first saw it. Lynne Frederick was perfect as Katherine Howard, pretty and childlike. No other actress captured her as well until Tamzin Mercant appeared in the Tudors and broke my heart with her vulberability.

  • he was one fat b*stard wasn't he ?

  • This remains my favourite portayal of both Henry.

Keith Mitchell makes Henry an impulsive asshole but also vibrant and endearing enough to see why 6 women and an entire nation put up with him for 30+ years:).

And unlike The Tudors, the actors in this procuction have stage presence!

  • Yes, but sadly thats the way many families were during these times. They were ruthless and thought nothing of risking the females in the family

  • is that keith mitchell?

  • The way he said "Mhmmm delightful" as he sailed away in the boat made me shudder D:

  • @MuatioAesa I was thinking the same thing! And that Katherine's uncle instructed her on how to behave and dress around Henry...! EWW!!! A man lusting after a woman a third his size and almost young enough to be his granddaughter... and the fact that her uncle cared more about his position at court than about her safety! Katie's family knew that she was reckless, naive, and ill-suited to the ruthless court but did nothing to protect her!

  • This interpretation of Henry is the worst I've seen. He reminds me of someone's goofy old grandfather than the most remembered King of the Tudor Dynasty.

  • @maths36 because this is more accurate(with regards to appearance)

  • i find it funny that she looks a little like charlotte rampling

  • @KrunkPrincess15 Well, Anne Boleyn and Katie Howard were first cousins (Katie's father and Anne's mother were siblings).

  • @diddims lol i know that. that's why i'm saying considering that their characters are cousins they did a good job makin them look related compared to The Tudors on Showtime. I think both characters did well especially Natalie Dormer but she bares little resemblance to Tamzin

  • I thought this actress was so bad as Katherine but the character is not much to work with granted

  • Well,it's ok in the movie...But what was the Katherine felt when she was with that old Henry?? O.o I can't imagine it...

  • omg he looks like her freaking grandpa i can't deal with this particular interpretation oyyy

  • I can't believe Kitty's uncle! Her family knew that a girl of her naivete would not be able to withstand the intrigue of the court, they should have protected her, and look...! And that he abandoned her in her hour of need!

  • Gross, Henry! She could be your daughter! How could he have believed that such a young woman would fawn over a fat, stale old man with ulcers, is over twice her size, and looks like her grandfather?

  • I wonder to her, I wouldn´t want to be with him or be his wife, omg, blllleeeeehhhhh.

  • @maths36 It´s different time nowadays, they need perfect and hot man for audience. :)) I think that the real Henry was really fat.

  • She was utterly exquisite. Farewell, Lynne Frederick.

  • that guy needed to skip a few meals because he is freakin huge.

  • Accidenti, lui è un vecchio e lei sembra una bambina! Potrebbe essere suo nonno!!!

  • how cute she is!

  • This Catherine looks like a saint. I wouldn't take her for the slut she is described to be.

  • @ThorneAstor I think she just gets a lot of bad press, i always thought she was just very naive and made mistakes which, at that time, cost her her life... =[

  • @ThorneAstor Catherine was a very sweet and kind girl. That's why Henry was so attracted to her cuz she was the last person you'd expect to have pre marital sex.She

was a good girl just....easier than people would expect.

  • OMG!! She looks like his grandaughter!!!

  • Whos playing the king hes very handsome

  • wow I didn't know Kathrine Howard and Anne Boleyn were cousins! wow.

  • I like how they portray Henry how he most likely was: old and annoying who is also stubborn. And I have to admit as much as I want him to be like Johnathen Rheys Myers we all admit he wasn't really. Lovely though

  • Elle était très belle!!!

  • She is pretty.

  • is katherine howard was the last wife of king Henry VIII?

  • next to last

  • No, that was Catherine Parr.

  • No Catharine Parr was the last wife. Excellent BBC version "The Six Wives of Henry VIII" free on Netflix streaming. Keith Michell plays the king again-perfectly.

  • @PrincessMelody6 No, this Katherine was the 5th wife, Katherine Parr was the last and 6th wife.

  • What is it about this movie you don't like?

  • King Henry was a lech and a pediphile.

  • @melodymaxine at the time he wasn't a peodo, you could be married at 12 in Tudor times. Kitty was the perfect age for marriage.

  • @Medusa0999 at no time would he be considered a pedo. He liked young women and the youngest he went were postpubescent teenagers which would make him an ephebophile at the worst. a pedophile likes prepubescent children under 10 years old. Idk why people keep misusing this term.

  • @mastersnet18 I know, I was correcting another user.

  • @melodymaxine Yes he was! Although at the time, the age of consent was twelve for women and fourteen for men; Katherine Howard, at age 18, was technically a grown woman (albeit young), but yes, Henry had no business around such a young woman. Why Henry? Why do you think that a woman young enough to be your daughter would fall for a fat, bloated corpse with ulcers to his legs?

  • I have the BBC DVD & VHS based on this movie but I have never been able to find this movie, what is the exact title and is it available to purchase online somewhere?

  • Comment removed

  • My God she looks about 15-16 lol. I suppose it goes to show there were dirty old men all through time lol...

  • Henry's grandmother was 13 when she gave birth to henry's father, married and bedded at 12. It was normal back then

  • Oh yea I know that lol, was just stating it was a good excuse for a dirty old man haha...

  • lol

  • @Hipsishere unfortunately she was only 15-16 in real life.

  • @Dtennantlover1 I think she was about 18 when they married which the girl in the film probably was, but still pretty sick for an older man to be attracted to someone who looks and acts like a child, though it was probably pretty 'normal' back then lol.

  • @Hipsishere It is sick, but what Henry wanted, Henry got, and child marriages while not encouraged did happen, apparently she was 17 when she died =( thankgod we live in the 21st century.

  • @Dtennantlover1 Yep men of power can be ruthless though in truth I don't think she was that young but it says different ages in different sources so know one really knows lol, and yes it's still happening today in some countries so thank God we were born in the right time and place.

  • @Hipsishere yes she was about 14-16 when she married Henry and about 16-17 when she died

  • @CherryBlossomBlyue Most historical sources say she was around 17 when Henry first met her and about 20 when she died, but it's hard to know her age exactly as no ones really sure of her birth date. Henry was definitely a dirty old man, whether or not he was a 'pedophile' (as it was common to have a child bride back then lol) as his wives got younger as he got older lol.

  • @Hipsishere Wellll, actually Catherine Howard was the outlier--she was pretty young compared to the rest of them.

  • she is the perfect Katherine

  • Thank you for posting these videos! Love them! If I were Catherine I would have thrown up at the thought of that repulsive, stinking old man staring my way. She should have claimed anything right there and then-other lovers, a pass, a desire to join a nunnery-anything to keep that old goat away.

  • Era preciosa

  • perfect catherine howard

  • I was just looking the actress up.

I had no idea that she died.

I remeber her from The Amazing Mr Thingy (not his real name, I just don't know how to spell it).

  • Lynne Frederick died aged just 39 and is buried in Golders Green Cemetary, North London. A desperately sad story that goes to show that money won't make you happy - she got all her ex-husbands money but it bought her little solace. The poor girl literaly drank and drugged herself to death. She was so lovely, had such promise .. a sad story indeed.

  • Katherine looks about 14

  • She may have been that age when she married Henry but because we don't know what her correct date of birth is, she could be anything from 14 to 20

  • I thought it was 16.

  • when katherine howard married henry she was 19 years old

  • The date of Katherine Howard's birthdate is not known per historians. Most guesses put her as between 14-19 or 15-20.

  • no, she was executed well before she turned 19

  • @MrsNorry technically historians can't decide on her age, she could have been 14, 16, 17, or even 19 when she married him, according to historians. So, she could have been executed at 16, 17, 18, 19, 20 or 21, depending on which you go with

  • The actress was 17, possibly 18 when this came out.

  • i don't understand: katherine is a howard

and i thought that if she were a howard she should have more ambitions.

  • I personally think that when compared to the likes of JRM & co., this film is pure class. Keith Mitchell's portrayal of Henry VIII is impressive in my opinion, given the script he had to work with and the information given at the time, there is a concerted effort to preserve authenticity.

I agree with comments that Lynne Frederick's portrayal of Katherine Howard is excellent too.

She portrays a youthful & naive innocence which makes her story all the more easy to sympathise with.

  • katherine howard is my second fav wife, i prefer her 2 anne boleyn. Lynne Frederick is really good, she also played in Nicholas and Alexandra.

Poor Katherine tho, she was so young and henry VIII was thirty yrs older than her and she had no choice but to marry him, what could he expect from her, of course she was going to fall in love and have other affairs.

  • they need someone like her to play the katherine howard in the tudors. THEY HAVE to make JRM fat. lol

  • LOL I can't accept JRM as Henry. Hes Steerpike, he always will be. Oh how I love Steerpike.

Anyway, Lynne Frederick is a fantastic Katherine. She's my definitive Katherine, the best there was to date.

  • She did good in Nicholas and Alexandra

  • Lynne Frederick's beauty takes my breath away - so sad that she died young and tragically, poor girl.

  • I feel kind of sorry for Catherine, because she had to marry a man almost old enough to be her grandfather. It didn't really seem fair that she had to die - she was so young as well....xx

  • i do think so as well, and who can blame her having an affair, she was in love.

    poor girl.

  • I GUESS she didn't learn from anne

  • I feel sorry for her being with an ugly old man, and worst she was killed for cheating on him I don't blame her tough

  • If God was good at least hopefully Henry was impotent and she was spared the greatest indignity!

  • Probably, he is at this stage of his life. I mean, the festering wound that he have had could be indicative of Diabetes Mellitus and it could cause impotence. Looking at Katherine Howard and then, King Henry VIII in this film, I can well imagine the great gap of age. Aside from being very old, he is also obesed.

  • of all Henry's Queens I feel sorriest for Katherine Howard (tho Anne Boleyn is my fave.)

she was soo... young she did'nt stand a chance! Lynne Frederick did a brilliant job!!!

  • Too bad Frederick is dead.

  • the curse of sellers.

  • I'm confused a bit. If women back then were NEVER allowed on top during sex, wouldn't Catherine have been crushed by Henry every night? :/ Poor dear!

  • how do you if there was such a (secret) marriage that was like that?

  • Could you post some clips on Katherine Parr from this production?

  • He looks old enough to be her grandfather. The old Royal lecher lol.

  • Keith Michell is a genius. "Your little niece - is she a good girl? Not like another of your clan!"

    I love this man.

  • Is there any evidence to suggest that Catherine actually attended her cousin's coronation? She would have been between 8 and 13 years old at that time (birth-year between 1520-25, with the coronation taking place in 1533).

  • I don't think there's ever been any evidence, one way of the other.

Poor Catherine; there's no way that she didn't know her cousin's story. In her shoes, I'd have been terrified to be married to him after what had happened to Anne.

  • Me too. I would never have married Henry in the first place, unless he was really hot.

  • of all the men rowing they ALL here the Kings discussions.Spy anyone?

  • THANKS!

because of you im gonna make a special tribute to catherine howard!

  • I look forward to it!!

  • How long was the entire movie.

  • About 2hrs

  • Wow... that's a long time.

  • Katherine was a 'good' little Catholic girl..She's still my favorite though along with Anne

  • Thanks for posting!!

  • Lynne looks beautiful in the part of Katherine. the costumes are so pretty!

  • i know i really want to wear a tudor style dress!!!

  • "You remember your cousin...the Boleyn".

    Wow I rmembered those lines!

  • Lynn is a better Catherine than Angela Pleasence for me.

  • Lynn is a better Catherine than Angela Pleasence for me.

  • Thank you! I love this movie.
