You make some good points, Tim, and I think the game totally desensitizes people to violence and might even put some people who can't process fiction from reality at risk, but GTA in some ways is necessary.

The giant demand for first-person shooters and violent video games is an indication that people need a release. Maybe it would be better served playing sports or whatnot, but now that it's out there, I would rather drive through a digital residential zone at 60mph than a real one.
