That is why he invented it, for slow flying. The idea never became popular, mostly because people did not like the idea of unpowered rotors, but it is safer than an airplane or a helicopter. Juan died young, in an airplane crash...
Id like to try this, but for elevator I would Try another Gyro that is set up like thrust vecotring(so whole gry can tilt to act like control surface)
Does the tail work as ailerons as well as an elevator, or is there another method you are using to control roll?

@frankensteinmoneymac
The roll is controlled by rudder only. The rotors have dihedral which causes the yaw/roll coupling.

i would move the rotors back more it seemed like it wanted to climb too hard and it would stall
dubspins 1 year ago
I would call that an invention... well done..

@LTF85199 invention???? lmao gyrocopters have been around for a loooong time bud
dubspins 1 year ago
@dubspins I was referring to the twin rotors design which are not very common..
LTF85199 1 year ago
is that homemade or was it manufactured?
mrfourtysevenman 1 year ago
It's like an autogyro,right????

Any thoughts if this would work?

how do the top blades spin? extra motors or what?
mihali98 3 years ago
The wind from forward flight makes them spin thus creating lift!
it was an ingenious idea but I'm not sure who thought up the idea some centuries ago!

Juan Cierva, Early 1900's.

that person is freakin genius lol awsome for mega slow flying :P
speedstakerguy 3 years ago
The top blades spin due to air passing by as the craft moves forward. This also provides lift.
