@greyvoid the bassline riff from I'm Self Employed is playing and it sounds like they're adding different random parts to it so i figure it's just a live remix version of that song
@irnybru No actually I read that in an interview but what he meant was that he makes the best music sober in other interviews hes said hes eaten 5 hits of acid before playing a show theres plenty of pics and vids on the internet showing him smoking a joint and of course hes with luke here if you look carefully you can tell People that have met him say hes a big stoner and a nice guy who drinks alot
Introduced to Reason by Aphex Twin, legendary electronica producer Luke Vibert has released records since 1993 under plenty of aliases Wagon Christ, Plug, Kerrier District, The Ace of Clubs, to name a few on such labels as Rephlex Ninja Tune, Astralwerks and Warp.
yeah shitty "disrted drum music" is really easy to make. Doing it at the caliber of richard james is damn near impossible and making work at tempos higher than your IQ is well.....you get the picture.
since a lot of producers tend to follow trends and have live acts and richard doesn't really, so he only gets paid for his cds. Guess he did make quite some cash on that though, looking at the amount he made; probably the felt like he didnt need to be djing all the time and was happy the way he was -which is good-
They played a lot of favourites. I saw Aphex at the Sydney BDO and also before that at the Metro Theatre. Standing right next to one of the speaker stacks. Ears were fucked after the BDO.
totally agree, it's just one clip after the other with the same ear damaging crappy sound. events such as this one should be 'officially' and thus properly recorded.
aphex twins a better dj but viberts a better composer at least nowadays, aphex twins musics been shit lately nothing compared to mid 90s ambience he made

dude, get with the dubstep scene. I guess that's what he's gonna be doing for the rest of forever under his noobie little AFX alias. Shame. Drill' n Bass was sick from RDJ!!!!!
RDJ doesnt care about aliases. he just does whatever and uses whatever name he wants. maybe its just a coincidence that he chose afx for the analord eps. so i guess it doesnt mean anything in the end, but i like all of RDJ because he does whatever he wants and generally makes an extreme sound within a genre. just a total badass. i really like the drill&bass stuff, annoying how its kinda dead now
sweeeeet thanks for bringing back the memories of an awesome gig!! afx, was the only reason i (and lots of others) went to this BDO and it was worth every cent.. and of course the flaming lips were gold too!! :) :) cheers
i think from a performance standpoint, im sure Richard and Luke are a bit baffled why anyone would select this odd ball moment to showcase in a place like youtube? do their computers crash, aliens land or what?
did not know he played big day out WOW DAMN

there is a tune played at this event, sort of oldskool breakbeat tune, where a voice is repeating "don't go with strangers".
does anybody know who's the performer of that track??

what he combines under and -through- the distortion is pretty amazing. and he's among the First. -and- keeping up with current trends.
some of those machines he built, and you can't get some of those sounds anywhere else. respect -that-.
