Am I doing something wrong? I have some problems smoothing out my sculpts. Sometime it's way to much and sometime it almost doesn't change anything. Can you change the smooth intencity?
Btw how many polygons are you working with (just want to compare)
I don't know why he said there is no smoothing in Zbrush. Smooth is in the brush menu and you can change its intensity the same way you change the Standard brush intensity. Also, it uses this same intensity setting when you use Shift to do the smoothing. Unfortunately ZBrush doesn't save what you have this set to, so you have to reset it every time you start Zbrush.
what it does its that you have more time to show your artistic skils instead of your knowlage about how to show them, i think it is genius, and if it looks like talent then it is Talent. no talent is faked.
Judging by all your amateurish garbage on your YouTube page, I'd say you wouldn't know talent if it punched you in the face. Would love to see you do what this guy does in Zbrush.
amazing :) im still getting to grips with it most my models are done in 3dsmax7 but i saw this and was like iv got to play! lol shame the poly count is so amazing and abnormal u cant import to use as game models, what subdv are you using? i can only get mine to 5 but have seen people working in 10 or so also how do you start modeling a seperate entity without you first model dropping to canvas? struggling with that part especially cus once its dropped i cant get it back to edit, thnxs in advance
Pirate it. Highly illegal, but it works. If you want to use it for true educational purposes, I would recommend paying the $600, cuz it's worth it. Also if you pay the $600, you'll have a registered copy that can receive updates to the program.
I'm writing a Deadpool screenpaly for a big-budget, live action feature. Message me for my email address, the screenplay will be ready August 13, 2007!
Awesome. I'm trying to make a CGI feature film to replace Mortal Kombat Annihilation (based on MK3). However i'm not a modeler so i'm gonna have to learn how to use Zbrush. Nice to see another person interested in filmmaking.
Awesome work! But I'm not seeing the likeness. That could be anybody's torso.

I have an answer. AT the end, for extrud, you make a mask and you use Deformation >> Inflat
or use the fonction Extract ? Or anything else of course ^^

sergiossn 2 years ago
What are you then doing at 0:09 ?
I mean smoothing with "shift" key.

there is no smooth in ZB, you just subdive the mesh until you don't see the faces.
so you could end up with million of polygons.
for this one... dunno, maybe 1 or 2 million.

I though he meant smooth view, like in a normal 3D package.
Of course there is smooth brush, but there is no smoothing view.

how did you do that???

Zbrush is so underwhelming. It makes anyone look talented. Zbrush jobs sent to 3rd world countries soon enough.

I saw the specs and looks alright.
A little bit under the Wacom Intuos 3, but more than enough to get fine results with some practice.

I'll give another ZBrush course at CICE in Madrid the January 19th.
More information in Cice's website.

Hey thats some great skills you got there ! Really nice, Could you help me out and post some tips ? Im getting started at this, and nice sculpting !
Ayoubsss 3 years ago
tips...
be neat, prepare everything before started,
do a lot of test before start with a final model
(or you will lose a lot of things on the way)
Experiment with the brushes, alphas and strokes, so you find the tools right for you.
you need to find your stroke so your models dont look like a compilation of bubbles.
Get a Wacom Tablet!!!

have you used a bamboo tablet, and if you have how good is it with zbrush.
onlypencil 3 years ago
dont know about bamboo, but the old graphire is quite good and I believe the bamboo is pretty much like the old graphire.

I usually don't need more than 6 subd,
and you can use it as a game model if you export the first subd and the normal map (generated with the highest subd) :D
