  • excellent

  • I think that the allegory is really a prescription as to how to rule. The allegory is really telling us how to rule over the slaves.

  • Few of the Plato's concepts are still very relevant in Psychology. The ending made me sad though =(

  • cool vid

  • This is developed in the 20th Century by Roderick Chisholm: "If a person S is internally justified in believing a certain thing, then this may be something he can know just by reflecting upon his own state of mind." page 7 "Theory of Knowledge" 3rd edition 1989

  • the instinct is quite right, but sadly, it does not quite work.... the most important crisis in moving from true belief to knowledge is identified in the 20th Century as the Gettier problem where you think you have evidence for a belief and it still turns out to be false. This is nicely anticipated or sidestepped by Plato with his rather vague talk of anchoring true belief to make it into knowledge.

  • @zontulfilmsltd so whut u sayin is not to belief in evidence u get from others, but seek for evidence by ur self and go from there right?

  • Surely the only thing that can turn true belief into knowledge is evidence for that belief?

  • This is really really nice.

  • a wonderful idea to approach philosophy like this. Who did all the animation which is itself of a quality not often seen...? spectacular. I cannot think of enough things to say! Please post more and make sure this is sent to schools and univbersities. Is there a dvd of this?
