@Sinker861 Muscian's friend has a Phase 90. There are more than just that kind of phaser though. Look at all of the different kinds before you decide on one. I actually like the Akai Analog Quad-Mode Phase Shifter better.
i hate people who r like "OMGWTFBBQ TAPPING HES SO AMAZING" cuz one of the first things i learned to play when i picked up guitar was the tapping part of eruption... every guitarist can tap -.-
@peniosasdasd nobody here is talking about people who already bought a pedal. And most of people don't learn about EVERY effect before buying the effects pedal
Hey man, nice demo's there, generally what style of music do you use your board for? Do you find the pedals you have there cover a lot of the bases you need? looks like a simple set up.
@McJeyd The Flanger Follow an Up and Down Patern like an Airplane sound and the phaser follows a plain patern the flanger is better for things like van halen and the phaser for other stuff like Dire Straits :D
@HitaroX well yes... its ok if u do just something cool for the intro or so, but if ur gnna start using solo effects all the time its very cheap. because u hide our mistakes with it and u cant play withouth them.
@wannabeserpento99 so basically, you are saying that hendrix used fuzz, octave and wah to hide his mistakes? cause, i know hendrix well and... he can play pretty well. F!CK!!!! IT'S NOT ABOUT PLAYING GUITAR KID! IT'S ABOUT PLAYING MUSIC AND MAKING ANYTHING YOU CAN TO ACHIEVE THE SOUND YOU WANT!!!!
YES, DISTORTION MAKES MORE SENSITIVE BUT THAT REALLY ONLY APPLIES WHEN PLAYING SOMETHING SLOWLY, METAL ISN'T SLOW, I CAN SOUND LIKE A GENIUS OF METAL WITH A LOT OF DISTORTION EASILY.
@wannabeserpento99 go ahead and tell who are your favorite guitarists and i'll tell you the same thing but WITH EXPLANATION cause saying he's overrated isn't worth sh!t if you can't say why. and you would be surprised how good i can sound on distortion, i saw a video of a guy making noises with his mouth then putting distortion on it with his computer, sounded fantastic! btw why is hendrix overrated?
Dude, Distortion is an effect. Distortion isn't a natural guitar sound. In my opinion, I would say Distortion makes things easier, it certainly hides a lot of mistakes in solos. Try playing any solo without your distortion, I'm sure even the most famous of guitar virtuosos make some mistakes on it.
@Smaster116 DUUUUUUDE are you retarded???? distortion makes everything more sensitive. WHEN U sweep picck with clean sound u dont have to mute. but with distortion u must do it. if u touch a string by mistakes its gnna fuck everything up. with distortion u need to learn to mute everything or it will sound crap.
Bro how long have you been playing guitar? How many styles do you play? I'm not going to sit here and argue with you over something idiotic as effects being cheap. Every style is different, not cheaper/harder, it's just different. Im sure every guitarist can agree with distortion hides mistakes. Sure you have to mute the strings when you sweep pick, but try sweep picking on a clean channel. I'm sure muting won't sound so clean then. Go ask your guitar teacher or w/e lmao
@Smaster116 I gotta agree and disagree. Using effects for getting interesting sounds is cool. But using effects to basically play a solo or something for you isn't. Distortion does hides some mistakes but wanna-whatthehellever is right that it does make the strings more sensitive. But I agree that it depends on the style you play. And yes distortion hides mistakes. But it brings out alot of mistakes too. It could bring up something that you never realized while playing clean. and vice versa
hahaha... man you are cool, I just bought a small MG15FX marshall amp that has some incorporated effects and didn't know quite how to use them, it has reverb, delay, phaser, flanger and chorus and didn't know how to get the most out of it, but now I'll check what can I do. do you have any comment on the boss ME20 or the Digitech RP-355? Thanks again for the videos
Phaser is an exaggeration of the Doppler effect on a two dimensional field. it has absolutely nothing to do with wah. Please understand what the effect is before trying to teach it to others.
@befrankis I use to question that the same. Deaf people or people who are hearing impaired enjoy the different vibrations from music and hear every song as unique vibrations.
he has to be taken seriously because he's right..the phaser was used by people like Trower, Hendrix and Gilmour almost 15/20 years before the late 70's..and btw big gay al is a South Park character...
actually the two effects are incredibly similar in function but flange affects more of the background-type sounds u make while phaser is slightly more fore-ground or in-yo-face! i love 'em both.
How do you get such a saturated distortion sound at the beginning of the video? Are you using amp distortion or a pedal? Any tips for the distortion sound? Delay?? Reverb? Anything like that?
Guaranteed that's pedal distortion. Anyone using the amount of effects he is (look at that pedal board!) wants to be able to switch from clean to distortion, as well as adjust the distortion, from the board.
Plus, with effects like Phaser and Flanger it's important to be able to run the effect into the amp before the distortion.
