Well I bought the RN22 (09 model) 3 weeks ago.

I think the RN19 looks way better but have you ever ridden the 09? It's orgasmic. I rode both, the 08 and 09. Didn't know which one i should buy so i tried both. The 09 is just like a bycicle with POWER! I wouldn't say the RN19 is powerless, but the new engine is just.. damn. Much more torque and it's just more fun to ride. My opinion. I like both. So all my R1 dudes: HAVE FUN AND RIDE SAFE =)

The new R1 is way cooler then the 2008 version. With the new crossplane crankshaft and big-bang inspired ignition it's something really different. It's a shame you guys only look at the outside of the bike.

do you really think the new 09 R1 is capable of beating the 07-08 SP on track and cornering? Yes it has cool new things but seriously its ugly cosmetic-wise and the frame is horrible and lacks mid range power

yeah, i really do think that. Yesterday the second world superbike weekend of this year was a fact. Now there where 4 races with 3 wins of the new R1. All races pole position, 2008 had 24 races, and the 08 r1 won 7 times. So the new r1 is indeed faster then the old one. Dont get me wrong, i know the 08 r1 is way better looking, but who gives a shit? The point is wich one is faster, and has the best handeling. If i should choose a bike on looks it would be a mv agusta or a ducati.

yamaha dont want to power up the engine with horsepower, they said they want to make the riding more comfortable and safer, but well i dont like the look of the 09 either XD 04-06 is best in my opinion

only thing i would upgrade on those is the new clutch from 07-... way safer to drive
