  • and another thing...

why take the time out to search and comment on a video that you blantly dont like......fuckin retards! if you you dont like something go somewhere else and keep it moving!!

  • A partial imaginary story was told in "a little princess" (1995)

  • @PrincessJasmine201

oh my goodness... you are me. i am also princess jasmine, who loved A Little Princess, i was just talking about it yesterday... and were both watching this. hello, other me.

  • @jasminethereal hello!!!!!! friend me!!! ^_^

  • BULLSHIT CROCKRSHIT WHOSE D INSANE HAS MADE IT!!

  • WTF IS DIS!!!!! PLEASE SOME1 REMOVE IT.

  • When you dumb fuckhead religiontards (Hindus, xtians, islamofascists) start demanding that ANY insult of socialisms, socialists, communism, communists, or Karl Marx will not be tolerated, only THEN should any one support YOUR opposition to freedom of speech.

  • Obviously, the subhuman morons who are offended by Nina Paley doing all the hard work of animating this story and reaping the rewards of praise from others do not have any work ethics themselves, and they clearly do not have any real or serious problems.

Let's nuke them - give them some REAL problems to cry about.

Let's see how much they'll care then about the non-existent "hardship" that Paley's movie has caused them.

  • @mphello Lol, read your own comment when you're calm.

Once you realize what's so wrong about it, proceed to remove it if you wish.

No, it's okay, no need to argue about it.

  • I think this is an amazing film..great story, with life lessons.....beautiful, for the eyes.....thank you, so much, for this wonderful piece of art....

  • 1:57 totally innapropriate! characters from hindu mythology should be respected because hindus respect them.. this is ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING!!!! Nina Paley is a horrible person for making this movie... this is ridiculous.. VERY VERY OFFENSIVE!!!

  • LOVE THE SHAWDOW PUPPET NARROTERS!

  • Android2137, it was commonly perceived that having dark skin wasnt a very good thing in India, and hence dark gods were often rendered in blue....

  • Out of curiosity, why is his skin blue?

  • I REALLY JUST LUV IT HOW THOSE MONSTERS IN THE FORREST JUST STOOD THERE AND SAW WAT WAS GOING DOWN AND SAW THEY WAS ABOUT TO DIE AND DIDNT DO SHIT BOUT IT

  • Its not "RAMA " its RAM ~! :/

  • Ok, 12 people are smart people because this film reeks. I'm not continuing this film after this part. Sorry, this really blows.

  • @Guitarist500 and the world cares because.....

  • Exageraram um pouco nas proporções.

  • The timing is just perfect. How could anyone come up with this. It's genius.

  • How did the king knows that Kaikeyi is an evil scheming wife? That's funny enough and how Rama gasped.

  • From what I remember about the story, Kaikeyi had a maid who told her use the boon to make her son king instead of Ram. The king could not refuse and everyone thought Kaikeyi was a total bitch for doing that became Ram was the best son of all, even Kaikeyi's son was mad at her because he didn't really want to be king. She in turn took her anger out on the maid.

  • Rama left Sita becouse this was His dharma as a king. She lived in another mans house for a year, that means that She was considered as inpure.

Rama loves Sita devi, but He has to leave Her because of dharma.

This woman author of this movie was left by her boyfriend just because he doesnt want bo marry her and take responsibility for her. To say it in simple way he just doesnt care about her.

    That is the difference.

  • @Caesar88888 not boyfrnd dude..he was nina paley's husband!

  • @91happygolucky That makes even more difference between them and Sita Rama.

I dont care about Nina and her husband =)

I just like Ramayana, and the best way to watch Ramayana is to watch it unchanged - then it can really purify your heart.

I think Ramayana the epic is much better than this.

  • i dont get it

  • Weeeeeiiiiiiirrrrrddd!!! But entertaining! love the song haha

  • @mageolix dude just watch it and pay attention, it's not that hard to understand. i'd never heard of any of these people before i saw this movie and it all makes sense to me. if you're still lost as to who they all are try looking up names on wikipedia.

  • Didn't the director of this movie make it all on her computer?

  • Looks so good, I'm either going to buy it or hint heavily that I want it for Christmas.

  • I love how well the uploader segmented the movie, and it's not chopped into random pieces. :D

  • Thanks - I really did put a lot of effort into making sure the pieces were not disruptive. I could have done it in 9 or maybe 8 parts instead of 10, but it would have interrupted songs... which would have been lame.

  • lol yup.. very lame :D

    Well done

  • 3 cheers!!! :P

  • @drakar7002 Thanks for the upload. And thanks for taking time out to divide the video carefully.

  • the way there eyes are drawn is soo intresting to me..it makes them very unique looking..

  • "My evil, sceming wife!"

  • And I smiled at Kaikeyi's evil smile. "I must banish you for 14 years." (Big gasp from Rama)

  • How does the king know about Kaikeyi's evil scheme.?

  • Rama gasped. I wonder how come he's blue.

  • hey what is the title and who sings the original song that Sita is singing in the forest with Ramayana in this clip? Thanks!

  • well, *all* of the (vocal) songs are by Annette Hanshaw -- that's kinda a big deal about this movie for various reasons -- and i believe all of them are listed in the credits, too.

in this case i think the song you're talking about is "here we are"...

  • will u be able to watch be AV27 if it was made on your choice of faith/religion. i mean the comments here are so pathetic, - for our laughter we will mock whatever we can and we have a right to? why who gave you the right to hurt the sentiments of the people worshipping and follwoing their beliefs? for the sake of creativity why not create something NEW, why get a dvd of the ramayana and animate the character claiming to be creative???

  • Haha @ 3:17, I love the 'Dont let the door hit your ass on your way out!"

    Haha!

  • thats my favorite part. its better wih the accent too!

  • i don't get your point?

  • 3:06 LMFAO

  • LOL -- WTF are you smoking?

  • Huh?

  • There WAS such a response, in INDIA. I like to think that the people who watch this movie on YouTube are able to enjoy the spirit of this movie while still being secure in their faith.

  • so you're saying that since childish and small-minded people protested the Da Vinci Code and the dutch cartoons, that the same fate needs to befall Sita? wtf?

  • @WINKYINTHELAND

    well said............

  • A MASTERPIECE!!!!!!!!!!

  • love it...

  • Beautiful amazing film!!!! I could watch this all day.

  • its beautiful..

  • Umm.. wtf are you talking about? why exactly would YOUTUBE disallow this movie? Last I checked,

    1) it is now illegal to insult someone's religion, nor against youtube's policies;

    2) this movie is in no way insulting to anyone with any healthy number of brain cells to rub together.

I suggest *you* wake up, "vidhua", take off your blinders and realize that not everyone is out to get you, and that artistic interpretations of your "gods" are not meant as insults.

  • Anyone who takes their religion so seriously is going to have it insulted by someone at some time. Don't like it? Tough.

  • So long as it's not being explicitly hateful, Youtube allows it. That's the consequence of free speech, so if you don't like it, too bad. Deal. On top of that, NIna Paley did not make this to be hateful or any sort of insult.

And, on top of *that* you should stop being such a pussy about your mythology, as should everyone else about their mythologies.

  • Okay, here is my question. Sita Sings the Blues is a wonderful, thoughtful, sophisticated, inspiring, enchanting, romantic film. I saw it at the Chicago Film Festival and LOVED it! How come there is so much junk out there that gets the red carpet treatment and this beautiful film has to struggle to be seen? What is up with that?

    -Eric

  • I dunno but I have a theory. A friend of mine admitted to listen to music but never paid attention to the lyrics. I was like "but Maria, the can sing Maria is a filthy whore, and you will be dancing around, screaming hell yea." If most people are like Maria, then yea, most junk is going to do great and good films are going to struggle.

  • @ekolke Remember that this is a low budget, independent film. And most hardly get the recognition they deserve. Sometimes, after all the film festivals, if a film is popular enough it will be put in theatres and treated the way it should. But considering that Nina Paley wants to keep this free, I doubt that will happen. Plus, the Annette Hanshaw songs came with copyright issues anyway....that's why a soundtrack hasn't been released yet.

  • @ekolke might have been due to the tremendous amount of flak it got from the Indian community.

  • @ekolke Cuz this thing is extremely offensive to Hindus!!!!

  • @logicandroid123 Can you tell me what makes it offensive to Hindus?

  • Awesome stuff

  • This is funny. Way better than the one I saw long time ago on TV in India and definitely beats reading it all. Good job
