  • I like this As a harpsichordist, I'm intrigued by the digital "harpsichord" effects one can achieve with some of the new electronic pianos. This "hybridized" sound is quite charming. To counter the dryness of the simulated "plucked" strings of the harpsichord , I use an old trick taught to me by master harpischordist Kenneth Gilbert. A slight tempo retardation will simulate the effect of a crescendo and give the performance wonderful life,
