While it's nice with dual LC's (I use them on my RG assault squads for fluff), do you not have to pick one attack form or the other (so you'd be doing a bunch of servo arm attacks at your full rate, or extra LC attacks due to the servo arm? (Page 42 Rule Book "Two Different Special Weapons"))
@ZatoichiBlindSword No. The Servo-arms don't give the Techmarine a Powerfist, they are independent Powerfist attacks in addition to his own. So he can strike with his Power Weapon at I4 and then with his Servo-Arms at I1. Other limits to this are if you want him to use more Powerfist attacks, you need to purchase him an actual Powerfist; plus you cannot choose to get an extra Servo-Arm attack from charging.
There are just a few problems with this video, 1-you didn't show any troop choice, 2-the tech marine may not take lightning claws its not in his options (please let me know where it says he can in the codex because that is a funny idea lol) and lastly you didn't mention the meatshileds that are neophytes.
@Kravockian you can have lightning clawsas page 36 of the black templars codex stats that the techmarine is an independent character and may select additional equipment from the black templars armoury. Its under the subtitle Character.
@Kravockian you can have lightning claws as page 36 of the black templars codex states that the techmarine is an independent character and may select additional equipment from the black templars armoury. Its under the subtitle Character.
The Techmarine can be given Terminatour Honours at 15pts which allows him to select lightning claws at 30pts. This leaves u with an extra 55pts to use for other equipment in the armory.
Techmarine = 70pts
Terminatour Honours and Lightning Claws = 45pts
Full Servo-Harness = 35pts
Total = 150pts or Maxed at 205pts with extra upgrades
Sword bretherin squad & Chaplain.lightning claws, termie armour & termie honours & furious charge, Vow = suffer not the unclean to live.

My squads a gamble on points, But it performs. Brill Vs characters & Anything on foot, a real battle turner. at one point took out 3 SM tac squads in a 6 turn game... Be wary Heretics.

i need help i am deciding to make a new army and i cant decide between black templars or eldar both seem good but i need some advice for i do not know all the little bad ass toys or rules or perks both armies have so please help
wait are you sure Techmarines can purchase lightning claws? I looked in their entry in the BT Codex and the only option for him was to get a full servo-harness. where does it say that you can get stuff from the Armoury?
@aes620hb2 you can paint them BT and use them as SM, it's a good idea because you can switch between BT and Vanilla SM when you feel like it as long as you have the right HQ choice. Also means you have access to sniping scouts and other squads the BT's can't take.
hate to tell you this but you cant put lightning claws on a tech marine he has artificer armour not terminator armour and in the black templars codex it states that lightning claws can only be put on models in terminator armour.
actually it says that models in terminator armor can only take equipment that as a "T" next to it. So anything with access to the armory can take lightning claws
Dragonspeaker is right, it states that models in terminator armour can ONLY choose equipment with a T next to it, not that ONLY terminator-armoured models can choose equipment with a T next to it.
@RepublicCustoms depends at what point level we're talking about, At 500 points it's not worth taking the EC (better of with basic Castellan with lightning claws or a chaplain) Anything above 750 pts where you HAVE to take him, always take accept no challenge.
though preffered enemy is good in rolling to hit, "Suffer Not the Unclean to Live" adds +1 to strength so wounding becomes SO much easier. also giving SNTUTL to a power fist makes a basic troop strength 10. I've never tried the Preffered enemy rule so i am excited to give it a shot. Since i'm usually playing against ridiculous fast tyranids the -1 to init. from SNTUTL doesn't really make a difference to me.
yeah, i've noticed that about the power fist with SNTUTL too. I had a lot of mental conflict between choosing SNTUTL or Accept any Challenge, no Matter the Odds.
i dont know if they can take lightning claws. i dont remember and you do have the codex right there so... i didnt have any spare ones when i got my tech marine anyway so i didnt think about it. i find having a bolter is nice if i dont want him running into cc for whatever reason, maybe wont be in range to charge for example, plus he still has his power axe in the other hand. im glad im not the only one who finds the techamrine with a servo-harness beastly, thats exactly how i describe mine lol
yeah they can take lightning claws. BT kicks ass they get to reroll everything and are really good in the assault, plus, add a chaplain to the army and give him a vow and it helps you even more
yeah, what i did was i got a set of bits for 1 terminator from battlewagon bits and then gt a terminator squad... that was i have 6 termies, and i made 1 my marshal with spare terminator weapons which come with the squad!
thats awesome!!!! terminators 2+ save reroll to hit AND to wound ??? what can beat them??? i'm starting a black templar terminator army. can you imagine 50 terminators 30 for range 20 for close combat that will deep strike behind the oponent's lines and smash them just like that?
No to play Black Templar you have to play strictly from their own codex. It doesn't include Devestators. If you want to play out of the normal Space Marine codex I would suggest the Crimson Fists, it's a sister chapter to the Black Templar.
@boom911boom the BT upgrades (power weapon, power fist ect.) are insanely cheaper to repreasent thier mastery over tech nology. Name another codex where you can give storm shields to a unit for 3 points a model =P
@Kravockian Try again, not only were those 3 point Storm Shields the old versions but when we got an FAQ last Jan-Feb it changed to 15 points (but the constant 3++ instead of 4++ in combat).
hey im just wondering, if ive mixed thunderclaws and thunderhammers together in a termonater squad is that really bad. I mean the thunder hammer doubles your strenght as well as gnoring armour saves as well as knocking the apponent down to one initiative for the next turn and you get a four plus invulnrable save with the storm shield so please tell me if I should rip them off!
Actually its a good idea to mix it up. I run a 7 man squad of terminators with 2 lightning claws and 5 thunderhammers, and than put a marshal with them who has light claws. You want to keep those high initiative guys in there so you can take out an opposing commander before they get to attack you. With that setup i get 14 initiative 5 attacks with the lightning claws on the charge, good for targeting another commander or warboss who might have an initiative 1 weapon.
Kill them and than you don't take as many casualties before your thunderhammers come up. Its also good to use those ligtning claws to remove casualties instead of thunder hammers who haven't attacked yet. Hope this made sense.
i will re-read the 5th ed rulebook later, but i'm fairly sure that 'preffered enemy' rule allows you to reroll 'missed' hits only, not all hits (which is still very good).
also, you have to choose whether your going to use the lightning claws or power fist attacks, not both in the same assaulting turn.
i have one word for your techmarine and that is "Badassery"

The old space marine codex in 4e allowed you to put Lightning Claws on the techmarines. Obviously you can't do that in the new dex.
That model in this video is nice but once they update the Black Templar dex they will probably lose that option. T_T
But that wont be for awhile so enjoy it while you can.
