This is an excellent example of how to roll....using control, patience, and technique rather than moving too quickly and trying to muscle your way through an opponent. Thanks for posting!
@congabeatz not really. It does serve a puposes though. Training hard and strong serves it own purpose too . U have to do both to learn technique and flow as well as dealing with pressure.
They are both so humble. Neither one is trying to show off or impress the students or anything, they are just having a good time practicing an art they love. This is what a sensei should be!
What a MEDIOCRE performance, this is not in REAL LIFE!! I prefer to see the ART OF SHAOLIN MONK & combination of TAE KWAN DO which far more DEADLIER and an ANCIENT POWERFUL FORCE to deal with!!!!
@nareas777 This is a low intensity, high level sparring session. When applied in fast paced, real life situations jiu jitsu has proven just how relevant and effective of an art it really is.
i could watch that for hours...the skill involved to work at this pace is incredible..to flow from one transition to another ..just poetry in motion.....bjj forever
ok whooo is sad sad soul that could possibley dislike this video? My life's dream is to be where Master Pedro is along with all the other Masters of Jiu jitsu in the world today are at some point in my life far from now. I just got my first strip a few weeks ago but I already know jiu jitsu and I are soul mates :) Jiu jitsu is a way of life! LONG LIVE BJJ!
Wooow, man. That video was the shit. You should have armbarred him! Seriously, though...my instructor is a bb under Professor Sauer; he's super technical. Thanks for the video, sir.
I couldn't agree more. I've rolled with some guys that use only strength or try to rip your head off all the time. They completely lose focus on the technique and patience of jiu-jitsu.
@jshealy : I totally agree and the cool thing? this was about as slow as day one of class! of course far more technical, but nothing fancy, nothing super flashy, just stuff you learn in months 1-6.
Pedro is so awesome. I'm training with him this weekend. I always enjoy rolling with him. I'd love to train with Rob Lovi too. Just too far away. Great post. Thanks for sharing this.

Was a trap and roll or upa escape possible there? I'm a novice and I've never really seen black belts do that. How come?

what an honor it must be to roll with a red and black belt. (7th degree in pedro's case) he will be one of the few red belts ever.
