  • who's this? is this lok c?

  • I am selling my nikon d60 on ebay only 18 hours left Ebay Item Number 150707940635

  • @DjBuzz102 No you are not selling your D60 on eBay..Well not for £290 and £5 for p&p.

You might get £220 for it if you are very lucky. Sorry they are not very good cameras. They are OK..Just OK

  • can i take videos with this?

  • is this lok talking?

  • @inavanonasoapbox - The Nikon d60 has a Nikon f mount, so if you search for any lens with a Nikon f mount then it will compatible, these lenses will be Tamron, sigma and Nikkor lens, if you have a lens with a different mount finding a adapter is simple.

  • What other lenses are compatible with the D60 other than the one that comes with it??

  • I CAN'T FIND THIS CAMERA ANYWHERE! >_<

  • @J88Wolf go on ebay

  • @Steezmite22 *Facepalm* Of course! Why didn't I think of that?! Thanks!

  • Can it film?

  • is this lok?

  • i just realized that the one's talking to the old videos wasn't kai. correct me if i'm wrong. haha.

  • the main thing now is a new Nikon D7000!!!

  • Price ? I have the d80

  • @ThePigsarecool I could sell you mine for $500 with two kit lenses and a polarized protection cover lens and a case.

  • does this camera have a image stableiser control that you can turn on or off?

  • @Christianpherix123 in the lense it does

  • does the nikon d40 or d60 take videos?

  • @deumic141 no, it only takes videos. looking for videos, go get a d5000 or d90 or d3100, which ever suits you, you might already know this as you have asked this two months ago <3

  • i just bought a second hand d60 but the owner of this cam got this last nov 2009 only...i am just new with this gadget...is my decision right?tnx...

  • first time buying dslr. canon 450D or nikon D60?

  • @hussas12 i got a d60 and there unbelievable cheaper than most and good quality very easy to use

  • 450d. the d60 is more of an entry level, while the 450d is more mid range. its probably better quality

  • D60 i have it and it works amazing

  • @hussas12 d60

  • I lost my manual and my boxes. Well pretty much all the packaging. Do you think I could sell my Nikon D60 (which is about 2 months old. Brand new.) for 600 bucks? How much do u think would be the highest amount I could sell this for with the kit lens and provided cables... etc.

    ?

  • nikon d60 or canon 1000d?

  • Get the canon 1000d. My 1000d powns my friends d40x which is basically the same as the d60 besides the cleaning sensor. The canon has image stabilization that idk if the d60 has, and live view as well. And my canon 1000d has much much better noise control then the d40x. If you use iso 200 or more(which is really low) and don't have superior lighting then the pics are really grainy, but my canon is difficult to get grainy pictures even on 800 iso in mid-low lighting. Get the canon its better.

  • @Snakeman418 what do you mean by noise control ,im a newbie...

  • Cameras sometimes have to boost the brightness of a picture, the amount of boost is determined by your iso number, when your noise control is bad then your pictures end up being "loud" or grainy and sandy looking, which ruins the picture.

  • D5000

  • i'm confused at the same question! :/

  • d90. how much?

    n d60. how much? haha

  • For those debating between the D40 and D60, I would recommend going for the D40 if you're lucky enough to still find one. They're much cheaper and other than an increase in Megapixels, the D60 doesn't offer much more. You're better off getting the cheaper 40 and spending your money on lenses!

  • @skatastrophic The D60 has a sensor cleaner built in when you switch the camera on/off and offers 10.2 Megapixels instead of 6.1 Megapixels (Much better for cropping) the D60 shoots very slightly faster 3fps the D40 shoots at 2.5fps and the D60 has very slightly more colour depth 22.5 bits for the D60 and 21.0 bits for the Nikon D40. Both cameras are might fine 1st DLSR cameras, and both cameras produce great pictures.

  • hey i am thinking about buying a new camera but don't know what type of model i should get the D60 or D40 (by Nikon) can any body help me out a little bit that would be very much appreciated thank you/

  • Does anyone know if there's an option on this camera to do black and white photos? or will I have to edit them on the computer afterwards?

  • I believe you can choose the setting on camera to shoot in B+W, either that or you can change it in camera before trans to a computer

  • im starting to take pics for surfing and sailing but i dont know which camera to get this or the d40

  • How would you compare this to the Canon S5 IS?

  • s5is is a compact camera that comes nowhere near the dslr Nikon d60 . The only credible feature of s5is is its movie mode. If you prefer that then go for it.

  • hey im considering buying either a d40 or a d60. any suggestions?

  • i have both and a Nikon D40x

comparing the D40 and D60, the D60 takes longer to accumulate photons compared to the D40, but the D60 has some features like the auto self cleaning and stop motion maker, and the D60's kit lens has VR = Vibration Reduction. i suggest getting a D40 then use your extra cash to get nice Nikkor lenses

  • I bought the D60 a while back, I think it is worth the extra cash to get the D60. Its got 10.2 Megapixels, D40 has 6. The D60 come with the VR lens 18-55mm, The Vibration Reduction is incredible, you have no Idea, it holds the Image so still. Plus the Image censor Cleaning system.

    Get the D60...I love it.

  • D60 latest from D40... i suggest u buy D60

  • d60.

  • d60, newer and better

  • both are very good, d60 is maybe just a bit more "top notch"

  • im new and am having a bit of a problem choosing between d5000 and d60. d5000 is better i guess, but again there's quite a price difference. i would like to ask if the 3 focusing points is a very big problem? and also the live view ? is d60 in any way better than the d5000 anyway? thanks.

  • no live veiw ... not to say that i use it but it is also a good feature for noobs.. i personaly use the Canon XS and it seams VERY close to this one

  • very nice video ! i've got a nikon d60 myself. and i really love it ;)

  • Hey everyone i just did a video about the nikon D60... Please come and check it out...

    Thanks

  • If some one wants Live View, go for a Point ans Shoot. Not D-SLR!

    Pritty good video:D

  • hey guys i have a question

after i take the picture can i see it on the lcd or

i just can view it after i transfer it on the computer

please reply i need it badly thanks

  • why would there be a screen if you could not view the image? of coures you can see it after you view it, and most likely you can see it in live if you set the setting. but im not sure about the live viewing.

  • it doesn't have a live view function...

in my opinion, there's no much use of live view in this camera because it doesn't have a tilting screen like d5000...so it doesn't help you much with live view.. =)

  • you cannot view the picture before you take it, on the screen.

you can see the picture after you take it,

  • yes you can =D

  • I would say that this is a very good camera for beginners. But for me personally, it would be better to spend some more money for the Canon EOS 450d. All in all: Nice Nikon Camera! :)

  • Unfortunately the Nikon d60 hasn't got LiveView. That's why I chose the Canon EOS 450d instead. It was important for me to be able to watch the picture I'm going to take live on the lcd. Another point against the Nikon is, that it has only got a three-point AF system. My Canon for example has a nine-point-system. But of course you can take a look at the picture on the lcd a few seconds after taking it.

  • live view seems gimmicky and amatuerish to me. the camera's got a viewfinder! i've got a d80 and don't see myself ever need/wanting it.

  • well...some would argue that live view makes it more convenient when framing a shot using a tripod. as compared to peering through the viewfinder. Plus it's more accurate. But yeah. And they should stop incorporating video recording into the DSLRs.

  • Im not really sure about the live view.... but can i at least view the picture i've taken on the lcd screen??? or only when i downloaded the pictures on the computer? can someone explain more about the live view of this camera.....

  • i was stuck on this and the sony a200, a mate has one and i have used it, its amazing and really well built so if you have the choice of the two camera then i really reccomend the d60 picture quality is unbelieveable

  • um... this camera hasn't got live view, right?

  • i'm thinking about starting photography...would this be a good starter camera? thanks : )

  • yes it would im just about to get my first dslr but im getting the D60 this and the D40 are great starters this is just a bit more, but its better

  • @jayemush Absolutely, especially for beginners going into the DSLR class. In fact that's what the D60 is best known for, a great starter DSLR due to it's simplicity. ;)

  • i know this is like the stupidest question but can you record video with a DSLR? i am a begging in photography and i am thinking about buying this camera kit. Please Reply! Thanks!!!

  • Among DSLRs only Nikon D90 and Canon EOS 5D Mk. II have this feature. There's also Canon EOS 500D (Rebel T1s) on the way with video recording on board.

  • Not with the d60, there are other DSLRs that support video recording. The Nikkon d90 does, among many others. Just do some research. =)

  • Thanks =]

  • the screen loot´s of useful and well detailed information about the setting´s. Both the Nikon d60 and the Canon eos 1000d are very good cameras, sharing all most the same kind of technical features, such as the mp´s, fps, iso, etc...

I hope i help´d you, and every one else that are in the same situation. Sorry for my bad english.

  • Don't apologize for your English. It is fine.

  • hey guys! i need some advice from you of which slr camera should i buy, is it NIKON D60 or CANON 1000D? coz im planning to buy 1 soon.. thanks...:-)

  • HEY! Does it need to bee a canon or nikon? Because for the same price, you can get the pentax k200d, the pentax is a steep foward then the nikon and canons budget dslr. The pentax k200d features a weather proof body, built in anti shake, 2 screen´s, a upper screen and the 2,8" lcd, its much heavier ( feels more like an semi pro dslr). the mp are the same. The only thing that the pentax ain´t good at. is the fps, having only 2.8 fps, that is kinda bad. But the pentax k200d is faar superior...

  • Then the nikon d60 and canon 1000d. But, with you feel that the pentax k200d ain´t the camera for you, and you really want to own a nikon or a canon, then, i would go for the nikon, just because the nikon d60 it´s the ideal camera for beginners, having very simple menu´s and it "teaches" you about the basics of photography, showing you on...

  • EELS!

  • Why no Av kabel as usual?

  • can you take a picture using the viewfinder screen rather the the eye hole??? sorry i dont know the tec names lol

  • With this camera you`re not able, because it havent got live view.

  • how much zoom does it offers?

  • depends on the lens.. this one is 18-55mm , take 55 /18 = 3x zoom

  • thanks dude. I'm beginner to slr and I'm gettin one with in a week or so.

  • Is that how you find out the Optical zoom,

because you could have a 200mm-400mm telephoto lens then that would only get 2x zoom?

  • Well yeah but to me the '#x' zoom doesn't matter what matters is the #mm number, like a lens of 4.7mm-84.2mm is about 18x, but to me 84.2 isn't really telephoto

  • yes, thats how much it zooms, but 200mm is a very long "zoom". the human eye is equivalent 50mm on a lens so 200mm or greater is a lot....

  • NACK STRAP!!

  • I had used a reflex Canon A1 but today mine first digital reflex is a Nikon D60; a reflex really very interesting

  • no ,d90 can

  • You cant film movies with this camera?

  • No.

  • that's a good question...

  • crap review

  • D60 was my Christmas gift! I'm so happy! it's a great camera for rookies in DSLR photography.

  • why should i buy this camera instead of the D40, other than the fact it has 10 megapixels?

  • more pixels, more frames per second, which is good, other than that there aint a great difference,i owned the d40,but i am happy i upgraded,

  • how do you film videos

  • u cant film videos on this *Camera lol

  • 18 -55 LENS IS ABOUT WHAT ZOOM in a normal digital cmaera.. 5 ..7 ..12??

    Thanks

  • 3x zoom range

  • lol i got this and i love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I`m order that camera today. That coming flash, wireless launcher and cleaning cloth same price too. =)

  • myyyyyyyy loooooooe....

  • so d60 better for begginers then d40 ?

  • I own a D90, but I have owned a D40 and it was an excellent camera. The 4 Megapixel's, don't really matter unless your shooting prints.

  • getting mine after xmas

  • Hi is this camera good for a beginner and also,Can you turn the lcd off?

Like wont it drain the battery?

  • Yes and it's auto off after about 8 sec.

  • O.k thanx!

  • or i think when u put ur eye up to it it turns off

  • Yeah it does.

  • How much does that camera cost?

  • Something like 500-600 USD with the kit lense.

  • Lens*

  • Ooops, my bad.

  • do you think that this camera is good for a beginner?

  • It's perfect for begginers! I have one and I really like it. It's really easy to use.

  • hey i got one too however do u know if u can shoot via using the lcd or can u only shoot via the viewfinder>?

  • only the view finder. it doesnt have live view on it

  • does this camera take sd cards? would a sandisk 1 gb sd card work with this camera?

  • Yes and yes. But you would be wise to use a fast sd card such as the Sandisk Extreme III.

  • Whats the frames per second on this camera?

Im extremely interested in getting a Nikon DSLR and i need to decide on which on i want..

  • It can shoot at 3fps.

  • my love

  • ur asian

  • so can this camera take videos?? or is it just strictly for taking pictures?? comment me anyone on my page pls...

  • No sorry it dont take videos but if you whant on ethat takes videos, Then go for the d90 (Nikon), And also just to warn you that you cant see (Live View) On the display screen.

The d90 and canon camera's do.

    I hope i helped!

    (Aiden)

    xXx

  • hey im just new to photography, and im wondering what type of dslr camera is best for a beginner like moi??

  • The d40 is a great cam for a beginner. It has DSLR quality, easy to use and is just 6 MP. I say get that. If you want something nicer, get the d60. It's still a beginner to intermediate model, but it has more features and more MPs.

  • you can try sony alpha a200

  • Im thinkin about this camera, either this or the Cannon rebel xsi

I've never used a dslr Im a beginner to photography and ill be Eighteen in a month.

So im not like a lil 14 year old that just HAS to have one. Haha. Any tips? Thanks!

  • LOVE NIKON i wont 1

  • Oy, I want this camera so bad. Hello 21st birthday present.

  • NIKON!

  • It's Naikon, not Neeekon!

  • dood, sorry, it's neekon :)

  • hahah

  • Can u charge it by the usb???

Please GAT BACK TO ME ASAP

  • NO usb does not have the electrical capacity

  • umm USB DOES have the electrical capacity, lots of electronics charge by USB. However, this camera does not charge by USB as it is not made to. It charges by a DC power cord.

  • yeah that's why my d60 eats 6x2500 mah rechargeables in a few days

that's why usb ports over 4 ports come with a separate power cord

that's why the new high performance mouses come with tags to directly plug to mother board usb

do you even own a computer??

  • trust me. this thing is amazing. i like to photograph with it

  • Put your money on the Nikon D60. Hands down dee best.

  • Can anyone advise me as to what us better. The Sony A300 or the Nikon D60

  • Nikon D60 Anyday

Sony is not great for Still Photography..

Its actually Disgusting.. Kodak do better SLRs than Sony

    But Nikon is Unbeatable

  • Thanks for that.

  • Oh yeah? What about Canon, they are more dominant than Nikon in the worldwide sales, with 41% and Nikons 40%.

  • 43% nikon, 40% canon. numbers for japan sales 2007.

but it really doesn't matter. 1-2-3%...

  • personal preference

  • getting it today! i can't wait.

  • Me too!!!

  • Me three!

Well i aint i would like too but..

I just whanted to carry on the count up! :-)

  • me four, well not actualy soon but i cant get one for 450 bucks, so im saving up, already got 100 :P

  • oops i meant i CAN get one for 450

  • Same!

  • im thinking of buying this camara but im nto sure if this or evolt e510?

  • Get the Olympus E-520. It's a improvement over the e-510.

The D60 is nice but doesn't have live view, and will only autofocus with AF-S lenses.

The canon xsi is worth considering also.

  • best review ever!

  • got it yesty

  • i would also prefer this over canon 450, Nikon is ultimate quality in my eyes.

  • First Time DSLR Camera user

  • wow...

  • All depends on how you look at it. Quality build usually goes hands down to nikon. If its features per $ your looking at then probably canon. Some people prefer quality over extra features :-p

  • buying mine in a few days,

    Looks so good

  • i will get mine in a week :D i can't wait!!!

  • that backround music is irritating,.... i wish i had this camera its my true love

  • yesterday i bought it, its simply amazing, love it

  • D60 just arrived today. I love it. It is really very good. I will be useful with it.

  • I just bought 1 too im onli 14 this year i am new wif dslr but the nikon d60 is very user friendly too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Just got one and I am very IMPRESSED.

I have been a 35mm enthusiast since the 70's and I waited until this camera came out to get me the QUALITY IMAGES that I used to get from my SLR. Are you still reading? go out and buy one now. (FORGET THE D40 those are just previous buyers that are disappointed that they bought too early)

  • Congrats! Looks like a great camera! What's included in the 18-55 VR kit? I did not understand this guy, plus I think a camera store around my area was trying to rip me off, cause they said, the neck strap and the USB were not included. Thank u

  • Hello!

The kit def includes the strap and usb as well as software, power cable, manual, power cable, batt charg, battery pack and hot shoe cap. Be sure to get it all!

  • Thank you, Stevie! I just bought it and a friend recommended the new Canon Rebel XSI. I don't know what to do.

  • What's strange is that it does'nt come with a video cable. All my other Nikon cameras did.

  • Umm, the D60 is the same weight and size as the D40x and the new kit lens is heavier if anything.
