  • For a wide sampling of idgit thoughts, please read below

  • "bush" ...fucking brilliant...!!!

  • -techno beat- HILARYCLINTONHILARYCLINTONHILARYCLINTONHILARYCLINTONHILARYCLINTONHILARYCLINTONHILARYCLINTONHILARYCLINTONHILARYCLINTONHILARYCLINTONHILARYCLINTONHILARYCLINTONHILARYCLINTONHILARYCLINTONHILARYCLINTON

  • Wow, way to stereotype an entire group based on religion, we haven seen that before! I wonder if the idgt vote also applies to assholes like you!

  • I really want a good reliable news station, but I can't seem to figure out which is better.... the onion or fox?

  • "It turned out to be a beer commercial." HAHA

  • idgit = idiot

  • The Onion is the best source for any self-respecting Idgit to get their news.

    FOX is a close second.

  • it took me a while to realize what idgit was

  • That settles it. In 2012, I'm coming downstairs from Canada and shooting up a school, protesting against Islam or creating a Top Ten list of "diet no-nos". Then once the cameras are on and the "nation comes together", I'm stealing your idgits, America! Click here for free prize!

  • @Inediblehulk: Kiss me, you devil! XD

  • Idgit is entire US population is it not?

  • @messianicrogue No the idgit voters are primarily the evangelical Christians in our country who vote solely based on if the presidential candidate is a Christian or Not. Don't worry though. Church attendence has been declining over the last 5 decades, and as many as one in every three people ages 16-25 no longer believe in god. In the future Christians will no longer be the major swing voters.

  • @TaffyAlpha

Way to stereotype, be close minded and hate an entire religion for not believing what you do, all at the same time.

  • The idgit demographic is overshadowed by the booger eating moron demographic.

  • "I saw a bumper sticker that just said 'BUSH'".

    "How brilliant is that?"

  • The idjit vote is what decided the 2000 and 2004 elections.

  • idgits just voted for obama becasue his saying YES WE CAN. I was lisening to his song and at 0.28-0.32 He goes " yes we can the oppertunity, the pospartity yes we can KILL the nation"

  • @singlaprety12 " yes we can the oppertunity, the pospartity yes we can KILL the nation"

I'll stop voting for Obama on the same day you go back to grammar school.

  • @TaffyAlpha I'm sorry I do not spell check meaningless comments. Also insulting my spelling means you can not come up with a logical comback. Oh and for your information 'when you go back to grammer school' is next september. The 2012 eection is also in 11th school year so I quess your not voting for obama.

  • LOL, though I am with bootybooty44...I would have voted a canine into the white house before I voted for Palin.

  • @MousieQueen98 you did

  • This is one of my favorites, becuase, despite it being a satire, it is also 100% true. This won obama the election, the idgit voters.

I also really like the one about obsessed obama backers realizing how empty their lives are after the 08 election.

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAhaahaAHAHaa

  • The Idgit Vote... LOL That's most of America ... and Chavez... LOL

  • I had to look up the word "Idgit".

  • "bush" bumper sticker: brilliant!!!

... it was actually a beer commercial" XD

  • The uneducated masses = idgit lol

  • look at the description-means idiot

note for the future, when in doubt, read the description

  • lol "idgit" only my relatives from the south say idiot that way.

  • it's a different word with a slightly different meaning. It's also outdated more than southern i think. My grandparents say it but no one else i've met in alabama, louisiana, or florida does.

  • "Idgit" is the American spelling of an Irish slang term for idiot. I live in the south and I say it all the time, but I only know one or two other people who say it.

  • are they smaller than midgets?

  • that's something an idgit would say...

  • You can say you analyze, weigh pros and cons, whatever, but the fact of the matter is that the majority of America consists of idgit voters who would order a ShamWow because the commercial said to call in the next 10 minutes.

  • plus i hear their really good at picking up hooker blood.

  • Comment removed

  • Hey now, repeat after me:

Special person, they are special. Just very, very, very, super special.

  • DEY GHOT MA VOTEE

  • guitar hero on tour

  • lol it wasnt until like the 15th instance of the word "idgit" that i realized what they meant. hilarious!!!

  • I love how they keep a straight face during this ^^

  • I would LOVE to see some outtakes! These are true professional comedic actors.

  • That is a very very very good idea.

  • What I never got was what Obama wanted to change TO. I understood what he wanted to change FROM, but not his goal.

  • Indeed...i think its because he didn't want us to know...or he hadn't been told yet...

  • It's probably because Obama could hook many Bush-upset people, as well as any form of minority by announcing the ambiguous "change", while simultaneously keeping from upsetting any particular demographic (aside from Bush fans) by announcing what to change to. From there he just let his campaign answer that question.

  • on his website he had the equivalent of at least a dozen pages typed up outlining very specifically what a lot of his plans were...

i'm not sure what happened to those plans though... =\

  • yet regardless of your opinion on obama you must admit he campaigned to the idgit voter. "change" and "hope" with a big smile on his face but no talk about any real issues where someone might disagree with him.

If he had a website that had more information should hte intelligent seek it, that's all well and good, but his election still shows how strong the idgit vote is because of how he campaigned.

  • Obama showed much more intellectualism than any other fore-running party. McCain and Palin? Really? I'm not even going to dignify that with a statement.

  • well, you're entitled to your opinion. I just hope you're sure that you're not part of the idgit vote, not falling for any cheap tactics(if perhaps better disguised ones in your case since you're obviously interested enough in politics to not be a total sheep)

  • @bootybooty44 I agree with that butI think all teh canidatyes are ether a tard or just plain curropt

  • @JustThink00 you're damn right. It wasn't about the validity about what he said, it was about the swaveness of how he said it. It wasn't about how his political history looked, it was about how his ethnic history looked. Worst part of it all was as soon as he got into office his administration started referring to everything he said in the campaign as "campaign rhetoric"

  • I like how we can all agree that the"other" voters are idgit although I'm sure we all voted for different people. The beauty of the Onion, bringing idgits together to complain about other idgits. =)

  • its depressing how true the onion can be

  • It's really depressing how there is such a huge block of idiots in this country, and it makes me sad. Unfortunately, idiots like other idiots and that is why Washington is in the crap-hole right now; we've only had one president ever with a doctorate.

  • Well, I agree that just because someone has a doctorate doesn't mean they are exceptionally smart, or especially capable of running this country.

However, a certain level of knowledge must be obtained in order to acquire such a certificate. It would be unwise to completely disregard the significance of a doctorate.

  • Look on the bright side.

Most idiots are too lazy to go and vote anyway.

They save their energy for later, when they whine about the govt., and the country going to hell.

  • the ironic and sad thing is that this is pretty damn accurate for most of America today. Especially that huge wild swath of redneck country between the coasts.

  • That's why Obama won?

  • no, mccain still had the idgit vote, but obama had all the rest, even republicans voted for obama, Obama did have some of the idgit votes because his name was fun to say, but that's about it.

  • look at the description if you wanna know what Idgit is.

  • god-fuckin-damnit , whats a idgit xD

  • its them misspeling idiot

  • you

  • Read the info...

  • I was an idgit voter this past election. :D

I went back and forth and finally rested in the middle for the final month of campaigning and simply watched how the candidates behaved and how they endured the process of campaigning and...

Yes, I literally made up my mind standing in the voting booth.

... although I guess I wasn't attracted to toys from my youth like Sara Palin... That might be why I eventually ended up voting for Barry Oh-B.

  • I am part of the Idgit party and I am proud.

  • sooo true... sigh..

  • HE VOTED FOR BUSH! GET HIM

  • BUSCH

  • omg! someone besides me who uses the word idgit!

  • Yeah see im sure I was an idgit voter, I was told that John Mccain is so old that he remembers when Joe Biden was bald, I knew right there that he would not have gotten my vote cause I sure as hell didnt want something to happen to where Palin would take the seat.

  • where's the black woman

  • @brooksaceb your a fucking racist the black person sucks idgit

  • well, they are the majority here in the u.s.

  • Duncan Birch, Author, "How to Vote for Winners"

  • Life imitates art. This totally describes undecided voters at this late stage of the game.

  • "...the idgit voter is someone who considers all options or looks at options by not considering them."

    Best line ever!!!

  • The Onion just simply NAILS it square on. They ARE the greatest source of news on the planet.

  • hahaha so funny how they make the voters sound like they all have ADD or are retards

Throwing nerf balls at them into the voting stations lol!

  • cos they're mocking how newsreaders actually sound, Onion is brilliant!

  • It's pronounced eejit

  • i sell my vote to the highest bidder$

  • voting is for people who think their vote counts....

Stop Voting, you only give them credibility

  • Yeah, stop voting. Let the idgits decide instead! It worked the past couple of elections.

  • exactly

  • I always thought that word was spelled "idjot."

  • I didn't choose either Bush, and if you were informed at all you would know that McCain, not Obama, is going to swing the idiot vote and probably get the presidency from it.

  • A idgit to me is some one who votes for the next new thing without knowing what their veiws are. Our system is set up to make people think we have a say. Government controls the media and the media decides who our president is going to be.

  • well thats all because you dont vote directly for the president, and states have certain value and all that in my country we vote directly for the president and the only thing it matters is the number of people, not what important a state is

  • 'Government controls the media', huh?

I'd like to know how. This isn't China. Really, if you have any idea what kind of relationship the press has with the government, you'd understand that it'd have to be such an indescribably brilliant brainwashing and control that we've got no chance against them, vote or no vote. Governments don't just go poof into existence. These people have backstories, prior histories, before they had the slightest clue whatsoever they'd be in government.

  • excepting fox news of course

  • it's not a matter of democrats or republicans. it's really the problem of democracy, as stated in Plato's Republic.

one of the stories about democracy in ancient greek tells how ppl who were exiled by referendum sometimes got those exile votes because their name sounded bad.

the system is problematic, and at the same time, (unfortunately) the best political system we've come up with in developed capitalist societies so far.

  • c'mon merduf, the fact that voters are often influenced by factors unrelated to the purpose of the vote is hardly evidence that democracy as a political system is problematic. It's more likely evidence that the educational system is ineffective, therefore rendering voters incapable of grasping the essentials of democracy and the specifics of the given vote. If I were to vote for the prettiest candidate that doesn't say democracy isn't working, it says I'm irrational, uneducated or simply a moron

  • matenzo: This just reminds me how the communist governments blame the failure of the soviet union on "people's failure to act selflessly". There are certain human natures that education can't change. In the old communist model, centralized power leads to corruption and oppression of opinions. In democracy, marketing strategies become the main factor in elections. These reflect the conflicts between deep rooted human natures and the ideals of the systems.

  • Still there are plenty of aspects of human behavior that education changed significantly even though they were considered deep rooted natures (such as the position of women in society). Unreason and prejudice (the main traits that would get a person to vote for the candidate with the less threatening name) will most likely always be around but their influence on decision-making can be greatly reduced. To deny education that power is to strip mankind of the potential to rid itself of it's demons.

  • the idjit voter represents the heart of America

  • Lol, idgits. If you're not going to vote on the issues, you shouldn't even be allowed to vote. Dumbasses.

  • IDGIT = IDIOT.

  • well done!! glad to see you keeping up with thr rest of us..

  • the truth is so funny

  • idgets wtf i don't get it ha ha ha haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa a beer commerial BUSH

  • Idgit voter is a voter which hasn't fought to what candidate to vote, mainly because they are not interested in politics. They postpone the decision of what candidate to vote for, for the last moment.

  • oh that sad so they are the ones who vote whichever way the wind blows according to media hype that is why things are the way they are in America

  • thanks for the help

  • You have -got- it.

  • thanks for the help

  • LOL this is awesome

  • Idgit! Such a hilarious word!

  • BUSCH

  • BEER

  • As a idgit, me self, me think good this report. Me think that Hillary and Baragak should do have wrestling match to see who win and be King of America.

  • "BUSH"

  • The Idjit voter is the core constituency of the GOP.

  • The why is Obama's slogan "Hope a dope"

  • The idgit vote,"The Idgit Vote", that's all I hear anymore.Did you all forget about the "Kook" vote,or the "ass-wipe" vote.Look sure the political parties covered the "douch-bag" vote, but don't forget your roots.

  • I try to think of ways to discourage idgit voters, like warning them that if they use an electronic voting machine, they might catch one of those computer viruses.

  • i was thinking idgit was migit + idiot = idgit

  • The word for idjet,in the scottish language is(irish)

  • Actually, im scottish, and i think the closest translation is 'eejit'.

Leave our irish friends alone :)

  • these are the Rush Limbaugh/Bill O'Reilly voters

  • How many votes did they get? idgit

  • sorry you misunderstood me. I was talking about the listeners to these two fellows. Some even call themselves "ditto heads" which indicates they just repeat anything they hear on the program without regard to the facts.

  • The truth is that Jon Stewart, Stephen Colbert and Bill Maher audiences are the real idgits. See YT vid "Bill Maher gets his feeling hurt" /watch?v=Cn-R3loZZbu (that's a lowercase "L" in the middle)

  • What does getting your feelings hurt have to do with being intelligent? Turtles don't get their feelings hurt, parrots don't get their feelings hurt, robots don't get their feelings hurt. I don't get your point.

  • Mahers' not and idiot. Neither are Stewart or Colbert. THE AUDIENCE DIDN'T GET THEIR FEELINGS HURT. They are idgits. There lies the point me bucko.

  • now we are getting off track. And, by the way, I see your strategy, you are trying to scare me by talking like a pirate. ahar back ta ya matie

  • You're talking about three comedians who admit their show is for entertainment, satire, and laughs as opposed to the right wing guys who claim their program is "news".

  • God you are embarassing me and hopefully yourself. Rush Limbaugh is purely an entertainment and opinion show with bits, callers, song parodies etc. You didn't mention anyone else so "right wing guys"? Whatever. Alot of people think Stewart is a news show even though it's on 'comedy' central. Ha ha

  • I don't think, especially Bill O. would agree with you, he considers himself a "reporter", as does Limbaugh, but I'm glad that you can see them for what they are. Man you are really sensitive for a right winger. First you talk about hurt feelings and now about embarrassment. A little "touchy feely" for a person who claims to be a righty, aren't we?

  • is the bald guy the guy from the sonic commercials?

  • oh! haha i was trying to figure it out. He's got the perfect delivery for this kind of humor.

  • One of the best american comedy on the internet - brilliant

in ireland its pronounced 'eejit' it refers to 90% of american people...

  • 90% of americans eh? I think America is about 90% of Irish decent. Do the math if you can! Of course, I do not actually mean that, I am just trying to show you how rude you and your fellow Irish are being.

  • i know im so sorry for being so rude.

  • I'm just posting to apologise for my fellow countryman. He was rude. I hope you don't think Irish people in general are rude. I hope you will visit this island and will experience our hospitality some day. Be sure to mention you're American. Speak loudly, Irish people cannot hear very well. And mention how 9/11 changed the world alot. And don't hesitate in telling us your Irish too. We, as a people, can get lonely at times in this frightening, imtimidating, post-9/11 world.

  • well, eejit, if you knew how to read a sentence you would know that cianmurtagh was stating that "eejit" refers to 90% of american people. and as an american, i'm sad to say he's right. we are ignorant sheep and we do whatever the television tells us to do, and that is unfortunate.

  • "It turned out to be a beer commercial"

  • Every idgit I ask who they're voting for says, "Dunno." So, I think the best move is for Hillary, Barack or McCain to change their last name to Dunno. That'll seal the deal.

  • "that's what sealed the deal" lol

  • "Man of the Moment" Sounds like a certain junior senator who wil lose to McCain in the fall.

  • this video was brilliant; hate Bush, but it was the idget vote that was swayed by flag wavin' and Jesus talkin' that made the difference; our uneducated are a real national security issue!

  • Your post being a case in point.

  • wow...well spoken. I take it you were swayed by the flag waving and Jesus-talk, in spite of false Iraq intel, ignoring 9-11, abu graib, wiretapping, Valerie Plame, and your own threatened health insurance. But I'm the one who demonstrates ignorance; very good.

  • clarification: I don't hate Bush; I'm saying there's no point in hating him ot neo-cons or the extreme right wing; blame the idget voter. The Right only have sway because a sizable minority voted them in; to their credit, Republicans know how to sway the idget vote, far better than the Democrats.

  • You spelled "idgit" wrong. You deserve some kind of special award, public flogging or the Vice Presidency for that.

  • my bad; tried sounding it out instead of seeing the actual spelling; rhymes with "widget" "gadget", etc.

  • Wait, they forgot to mention the ignant vote

  • I really like how serious they are...the delivery is really amazing

  • My favorite of there vids is concentric circles... it'll have you in tears. The factthey can keep a straight face amazes me.

  • hah hah yeah my fav part is when they go to the on scene reporter who promptly gets nailed by the tidal wave!

  • this is super...I've made my youtube find of the month!

  • there's actually an add for clinton on the side of this page as I'm viewing this

  • "considers all options by not considering them"..."the candidates name sounds like a beverage"...lmfao

  • Awesome. Double-barrelled satire - It makes fun of voter apathy, and those inane Sunday morning discussion groups.

  • lol nice

  • There was a candidate in the sixties named Pat Polson(I believe) and one of his slogans said it all then, and is more poignant now than ever.

" Be a Lert. America needs more Lerts."

  • 15 times in a 30 second spot

  • as tur as it gets

  • *true

  • so true....yet so sad.

  • bush is an idgit :P

  • This is so good. For once political satire is actually funny.

  • this video totally made my day

  • idgits ftfw

  • The Onion is EPIC!

  • Very funny.

I'd also expect the Idgits t
