In about 1981/2 when Saxon were on tour Christopher Guest was a roadie for them, and he has always said that tour, all the experiences he had with the band and their management, was the real inspiration for what became Spinal Tap:-)))))))))))

In truth what they do takes the piss out of the whole rock culture of that time and not one just one band. Spinal Tap are true metal heads because they understood the in's and out's and every 'in' joke amongst the bands and were able to mimic it to perfection :)

Don't want to get into an argument with you but, having seen both Gillan and Biff recently, you're talking rubbish. I love them both but Gillan really struggled at times whereas Biff was spot on. Both great front men. Saxon and Biff deserve far wider recognition than they get and I'm very pleased their uk tour has gone down so well. Word is they're back in uk after the summer - can't wait!
