I tried to get a job in the USA (Colorado) as a Tanktruckdriver. I have experience doing that in The Netherlands. But they weren't hiring = foreigners ... they seem to think all people from outside the USA are Terrorists or something like that.
Or is it because I am a female driver??? Could it be??? Hope not but it wouldn't be nothing new to experience. Well I now drive for an oil company itself in Holland, GULF oilcompany. Will make a movie of my work and place it here online
@anson7500 I was offloading diesel and with diesel you do not need to hook up a vapor recovery hose (these are California rules I hear other states are different), gas you do. You always hook up your vapor recovery hose first. You want to minimize as much fumes as possible escaping into the atmosphere.
@truckerevan "You want to minimize as much fumes as possible escaping into the atmosphere"
Very true ... and also because of you don't want to inhale much of those vapors yourself.
Unloading is started (here / I) only after I done all the connecting of cables and hoses. Than I have to put data into the computer in order to be able to unload. You know how much was in the groundtank of the customer. We may fill up till 95% So 20m3 groundtank = 19.000 is the maximum I can fill it up to
Procedure to unload UN1202 AND/OR UN1203 (netherlands)
1) earth-kabel (aardekabel)
2) Vapor hose (dampretour)
3) hose to unload fuell
Germany = also a cabel for not overfiling the groundtank of the customer.
But in realtime earth cabel ... fuell hose OR gasreturn hose ... depending on the situation of the gasstation and not willing to hassle with tripping over one of the hoses ;)
Diesel in Holland at Gasstations also GAS-returnhose is required.
Very cool, i drove tankers for 14 yrs, starting with a little jobber, then about 3 yrs with Texaco, then 8 yrs with Shell Oil Co till they got rid of their company trks about 8 yrs ago, this was the best driving job i ever had...
Why are you unloading from under the trailer to the otherside. You should of pulled in the other way so that you dont run your hose line under and over to that pump.
The hose isn't running under anything. The hose is on the offloading side. This is a old two compartment Fruehauf diesel trailer. That is the one offload point. The other side is for pump ons. You offload on the passenger side. It is a rear tilted trailer. It is a pretty straight forward set up.
@truckerevan ... my truck is even better === I can UNLOAD at both sides of my trailer.
There is an extra unloading point at the drivers side of the vehicle ==== cause in Germany they unload at this side. And my trailer was build for both countries ... as we drive both Holland and Germany.
But in Holland it comes in handy at some unloading sites ... can drive in backwards = safer situation!

@rudge1982
Kleins (now known as EZ Trip Travel Center) is located at Golden State and Herndon Ave. Next to Highway 99. The biggest truck stop in Fresno.
