  • You can tell just by listening to her live that in the recording studio they don't really need to mess with her voice too much--She has really good control of it even when she's bouncing around on stage!!

  • whats up with the crowd? Where are all the hands in the air? dont they realise that they have the greatest band with the most beautiful singer in the world in front of themselves?

  • @grodeligrodeli : it's a TV show (Pop Idol like), not a gig. And in 2001(or 2002) they weren't as famous as they were few years after ;)

  • @Talenarie Okok. yea I know they werent as big back then as they are today but still :D It's a hell of a song :)

  • Still can't believe she pulled off that long high note live, shocking.

  • About her voice changing, it's true the voice changes in that performance she was on her early 20s and now she's about 30something, and she has been touring a lot the past 15 years(aprox) and that really affects your voice she even had to sing with a cold and stuff it's dangerous and it can change your voice forever, but I don't think it's completely bad just a change and her voice now fitts more on songs like Utopia, but she's a soprano and her voice is amazing! no one can beat Sharon Den Adel

  • tarja turunen ? yea

  • Haven't you notice that she always gets sick before major concerts, it's just the stress I believe, even if she's been doing it for more than 10 years it's still hard to stand in front of a BUNCH of people and sing I admire every body who does it(live) you have to have balls for that.

  • snow white had 7 followers ... sharon has 7000,000. amazing does not give her voice enough credit. perhaps supernatural is more fitting. her stage performance is hi energy. she dresses like a queen and sings like an angel. she glows.

  • Aaaaaaaawesome..

  • Absolutely great!

  • Her voice is so amazing! I'm used to the new Sharon and I like her 'new' voice so this is somethingndifferent but it's still beautiful!

  • guys she can sing like this now too but she is just protecting her voice... because if she would sing like this too often then she would loose her voice for good :)

  • no, shes not just protecting her voice i'm afraid. she is still amazing, thats not the point. but her voice changed and she cant sing like this anymore. but she still is amazing

  • Well, voices do change. And I'd imagine concerts putting stress on your voice too, so she's both protecting it and also because she can't sing as effortlessly as before. She's still a great singer, but I'm kind of lamenting the change.

  • @Felicity1247

me too, i really love her voice still today, but her voice back in mother earth times and before was haunting and really extraordinary!!!!! but as you say, voices do change and she still is amazing

  • Did you see Black Symphony or clips of it? If you compare her 2007/2008/2009 stuff to before, it sounds like she can hit everything easier pre-2007.

The good thing is, she's still great at concerts even when she's sick. And she's amazing when not sick. :) She may not sing so well when sick, but she puts in all her energy to make up for it. She's a trooper too. She lost her voice due to the flu during Stand My Ground but kept trying, and didn't stop for the rest of the concert.

  • @Felicity1247

true, before 2007 and earlier she could sing more effortlessly. but she still is great;)

and i have the concert black symphony on dvd, you really can hear that she had the flu lol but i think she did a great job and sounded cool, she already had worse performances. anyways, shes great hehe

  • Psh... Ohh, yeah, you could really hear she had serious sinus congestion and throat problems. Such a pity.

I guess everyone agrees she's great then? Good, it's unanimous!

  • Like an Angel singing in Hell

  • oh.. I love Sharon in her old dresses... This is 2001... I think... Sharon likes this dress and she's wearing her on Ice Queen cover... in 2001, of course :D

  • I miss "old Sharon" too. :( I love this song and also whenever Sharon dresses up in flowing white. :) *sigh* What I wouldn't give to have Sharon's high, clera angelic voice....

  • diosa!

  • Nice video, especially from 2:06 beautiful close-up.

  • this is in 2001. in 2002 the drummer was already stephen. here it is another drummer. so i am 100% sure this is in 2001

  • this drummer performs with them to this day on special occasions (really long shows or when their regular drummer can't perform). you can even see him on the 'the silent force tour' dvd. the thing that makes this 2001/2002 is her voice, which sounds more like it did on the 'mother earth' album

  • thats true. here her voice is much clearer than today. but she still is amazing

  • Yeah, I agree with that, but still...I can't deny the fact that it would be fantastic to hear this kind of vocals from her now, I miss this STUNNINGLY clear voice of hers!

  • i luv this song..

  • So odd, shes using this "the heart of everything" kind of hair style, I thought it was from 2007/8.

  • No, i'm sure it's 2001 or 2002.

  • @stilettoes: she wears a long dress, can't be from 2007/8 ;P

and in her voice is still this sweet something, that she has lost now :( Miss the way she used to sing....

  • i agree with you. she "lost" that special thing in her voice. but that special thing wasnt sweet in my opinion. it was more wild. back in 2002 her voice was crystal clear and high. now she still is amazing but not as clear and high anymore.

  • @stilettoes 2007/2008? No, that's impossibile... although the hair style is the same, by now she can't sing so powerfully... I think is 2001: there are the old members.

  • awesome, and she's so gorgeous in this video

  • That was a really good live performance by them...the sound is great...love this song

  • OMG, amazing!

  • sharon headbanging <3 her voice is fantastic in this performance. too bad i can't hear the instruments distinctly enough, though it could just be me.

  • Fucking great performance. And good sound. And the most important thing: Ivar de Graaf on drums!!! Love this guy, Stephen fills in only half the gap he left.

  • 2002
