I was born in Latin America, but listening to this brought some memories and feelings that I can't explain. This is beautiful and truly human. I think we all like this because we are all humans and these types of music vibrates our true essence.
Tribal Trust Foundation I think have gone into overkill with their need to commission the graphics, although I can understand the span that is being molded together. It just doesn't work for me. Having spent so much time with Bushmen and trance and dance, like so many life experiences you have to be a part of it, the circle and clapping the voices, the stars above the soft heat of the desert and the call of the lizards at night.
Everyone starves for the semblence of our genesis . It was so simplistic yet so moving , both of spirit and emotion and easier to express oneself . Each one feels they are part and parcel of all life around them and are directly related .
i would REALLY love to have an album or set of recordings of their chants and music. So beautiful. that song at the very beginning is incredible and so deeply hypnotic.
There was no need for all the grafics in this clip, the SAN culture and people are unique,I would have liked to see the background featured in this clip instead of computer grafics all over!
@amberfredericks I understand that you might prefer to see the original movie of the San, however, I was commissioned by the Tribal Trust Foundation to create a video using computer graphics as a way to show how the culture resonates in the computer age, I was walking a fine line, my goal was to explore the culture from a different perspective.
@amberfredericks hm it is an interesting video becouse it seems like when a men goes in the trans and see like this, it even expalins the drawing thet this tribes make.... they are interestig and uniqe thats truee but this is a interestig thing in my perspective...
of 15 genetic lines in africa today, all from a common ancestor in east africa, only one is resposible for all the rest of the world : asians, europeans, amerindians, austronesians etc. climate terrain and diet obviously had an enormous effect on phenotypes in a short time.
I just saw a doc about the Bushmen of the Kalahari that really did a good job of showing their threat of existence. The trailer is on YouTube... just do a search for "Vanishing cultures film". On the right side of that video page is a link to get a free download of the film.

I love the music! You would have to have a sophisticated musical ear to appreciate such wonderful sounds.

Why can't we "civilized" people just get along like them?
MarxBakuninMe 3 years ago 5
Because modern civilization is all about making it yourself and not working together for the benifit of all.
We also tried that a few times but often ordinary folks forget about it and a few politicians end up taking all the power anyway.
omfg4000 3 years ago 2
Because that is not the nature of civilization. The nature of civilization domination.

@MarxBakuninMe Because they are so civilized ;)

My beautiful San black people of Africa, with their unique features. Their features gave rise to "Asian" people and "Native Americans", among others.

Ju/wasi as modern art project with sound track. Not a good depiction of Ju/wasi life but interesting music.
