I played this on the Wii. The graphic quality is so much more clear and crisp, You can even to do the Shop trick to buy items cheaper. It takes a stupid amount of points(at least 780,000) to max out strength, and at least 340,000 to max out health. Go to gamefaqs.com to find out what penalizes your score to earn Strength. Someone even cracked the Treasure Room to win almost everytime. With this info, anyone can finally OWN this game for all the agonizing frustration it caused us all!!

I remember this game and still own an actual 8-bit cartridge. Those ''hammers'' are actually mallets. They can only be used in the castle levels at the end, and you do so with the select button. You have to hit those ''centurions'' (the stone figured soldiers you see) and they help you defeat the enemy at the end, but they are so retarded and end up getting killed a lot easier so I don't use them. In the treasure room, that's actually called the ''god of poverty.'' Great video btw.

You might also want to mention that this game came out the same exact day as Metroid and shares the same game engine.

You get the levels, if you kill your enemies and collect the hearts, but the "invisible score" you are collecting reduces is you get hit. It also reduces ALWAYS, when you shoot arrow, so don't miss.

There are also many other things that lower or increase the "invisible score".

The "invisible score" also resets every level.

It started out long ago when I did it as a necessity, then when I finally picked up a gamepad for the computer (so I could play fighting games like Street Fighter), I discovered I play most games faster on the keyboard than with a gamepad. So even though I have an actual controller handy, I use the keyboard.

As far as I know, the prize for winning the Treasure Room is random. It can be a Barrel, Water of Life, Credit Card or Feather.

@Scous I played this as a little kid once on the nes and this was back when the game was more or less new.

I think it was in 1988 or 1989 ish and it was at the house of my next door neighbour.

I never liked this game much because it becomes so brutal later on when those eggplant men appear and block your attacks.
