For example, I am sure that you didnt know that the German capital of BERLIN is derived from the Serbian name of BRLJIN, which means "poor land". The Berlin region was abandoned in Roman times and subsequently taken over by Germanic tribes. As late as the mid 1800's, most of the names in former East Germany were Serbian; take a look at original maps of the period.

@NorthernerMatty123 There are the remnants of Brithonic {old Welsh} in many placenames in England today .Kent ,Avon ,Thames, Carlisle ect and please dont forget that Welsh was still being spoken up until the 10th-11th century or even later in the old Celtic Kingdom of Strathclyde. lt is interesting to note that a speaker of modern Welsh would have no problem reading Welsh from the 10th century while a speaker of modern English would hardly understand a word of English written in the 16th century

@NorthernerMatty123 Sorry to interfere, but among the Dutch you've got Frisians. They have a language of their own, closely related to Dutch but -it seems- even closer to English. Genetically they are also closer to the present English. Frisia was far greater in the 8th to 10th century AD. Including the entire coastal provinces. Nowadays Holland and Zeeland. But in essence your correct.

@FallusInferior Actually Frisian Isn't that closely related to Dutch. It has become more ''Dutchified'' in every day speak, but the real pure form(which is rarely spoken any more, although they are working hard to bring it back) Is much more English/Scandinavian type.

Saksen kwamen in Frieze dorpen wonen en Friezen kwamen in Sakisische dorpen wonen. Ze hebben kinderen ontwekt bij elkaar waardoor het gemixt is. Uiteraard lang niet allemaal. Lees onder meer over de Friesche koning Radboud die samen met Saksen tegen de Christense Franken vocht voor het voortbestaan van Paganisme.

Please dont forget that this 'conquest ' of Britain took place over many centuries and even today there are Celtic , Latin words still used in the modern English language. Therefore an amalgamation of cultures must have taken place. lt is even possible that the population of the British living in Anglo Saxon controled areas was greater than that of the invaders .

Of course there was intergration between the Britons and the Anglo Saxons .Many Britons moved west as the Anglo Saxons advanced from the east, but many stayed and over time accepted the language, customs and way of life of the newcomers .So the further east you go the greater the mix of Anglo Saxon--Celtic genes . By the 13th centry English had developed into a language and was spoken throuout what is now England,but in the west Brythonic was still dominant and would remain so for many years

@BataviNL You should improve your education and not insult my fellow Slavs by using the old-time ruse of calling them "slaves". For example, I am sure that you didnt know that the German capital of BERLIN is derived from the Serbian name of BRLJIN, which means "poor land". The Berlin region was abandoned in Roman times and subsequently taken over by Germanic tribes. As late as the mid 1800's, most of the names in former East Germany were Serbian; take a look at original maps of the period.

For those that dont know it, the Saxons were nothing more than Germanised Slavs (Serbs). This means that Slavic blood runs through German Saxon veins as well as through English Saxon veins. The names of English towns are proof of this. For example, Old Sarum is derived from the Serbian name of Sorbiodunum, while Salisbury is derived from the Serbian name of Serberiam. This, no doubt, will be a big shock to many. You wont find too many ethnic groups which have pure blood. Its usually mixed.

@BataviNL I was expecting this type of courtesy.The word SLAV originates from the Slavic word SLOVITI, which means "to understand each other". In Roman times all Slavs could understand each other, and Julius Ceasar stated that they would have been the greatest ethnic group had they central authority. Both Prussians and Bavarians are nothing more than germanised Serbs. Otto von Bismarcks mother was Serbian, and so was Empress Catherine of Russia, reason why the Russians made her empress.

You don't know that for 100%. Im dutch too, but i think im Tubantic rather then Saxon. The Saxon were more a federacy then a real tribe. Many tribes joined the Saxon federacy. Its the successor of the Ingaevonic federacy.

Go back to class or better yet take a trip down to your local library. Secondly, The History Channel is owned by A&E TV. A&E TV also owns Lifetime Movie Network, which boasts such stellar achievements in cinema as "Half a Dozen Babies" and "Mother May I Sleep with Danger". Sheesh!

History of battle is not recorded correctly, period. Have you ever seen somebody fight first hand? (not on UFC) The winner, no matter how hard the fight was will claim absolute victory, they will boast up what the battle really was to make themselves feel stronger at the time. And these "official" historians ignore antic Slavs. Romans inherited their civilization from Slavs. In ancient times Slavs were called Sorbs or Rasyans. Vikings and other Normans were very savage, and had little honor, which can be seen in their Slavic names. They were called "nemec" or"nemac" and "Varjaz" or "Varangians" in today's english. Gauls befriended Slavs and often fought Rome together.

The Romans inherited their civilization from the Etruscans and Latin tribes, while selectively adopting aspects of Greek culture and adopting the armour and weaponry from the Celts. The Slavs at the time were still residing in the forests of the Ukraine and southern Russa and were dominated by the nomadic Scythians and Sarmatians.

As it is proven that Serbs aren't the war criminals on Balkan, in a few years historians will have no option but to accept the real history of the world.
