This woman benefitted from a life in the UK and now has 'gone back to her roots'. Let's hope she can't hold on to her valuable UK passport and can 'enjoy' life in theocratic Iran where ou can't wear what you want or be anything but Muslim!
I saw this four months ago and just looked at it again and still can't believe what an idiot Ansari is. Afrasiabi gave it to him good when he said you have made a great ass out of yourself. Bravoo!
can someone please give the anchor another job? she's pissing me off a lot. She's so bad. And she can't have much pride. Which decent, patriotic and freedom-loving Iranian in the right mind would happily be on the payroll of Press TV.
Afrasiabi is a paid agent of the Iranian government. He is also a very superficial "analyst" no one pays any attention to him, and the Iranians should be advised to spend the people's money in far better ways. His many TV appearances in fact have produced the opposite result of what his handlers want, ad now more people know that the elections were really rigged and that the government is so desperate to buy a simpleton nobody as Afrasiabi. No real analyst would sell him/herself to them. Shame!
bimakan, you should be ashamed of yourself for smearing such an honorable man like Dr. Kaveh Afrasyabi. He is no paid agent of anyone. He is a highly educated scholar that all Iranians and all free minded people in the world should be proud of.
Firstly you had two people on one (some would say three) and the poor Ansari had half as much time to answer the accusations.
Secondly at 6:03 on the second part the video was cut and I think the cut part, which may have been very large, has something to do with Ansari's resignation later on. Please be honest and put up the full video.
Ansari was quite lack of knowledge when debationg with afrasiabi, woundering an iranian who works with british goverment should not aware af his country's situation , he was coward to leave the debate and afraid to answer the questions which he might be answered .
I don't understand why people waste their time on the election results where the real issue is regime's oppressive measures to suppress the voice of dissent. As soon as one of these cohorts of the regime pops up anywhere, although this is their foreign propaganda media machine, the guests or the host must present them with one question: Do you believe in freedom of expression. If not, "cut his mic." If yes, then why is he supporting a regime that murder people for speaking against them?
What does the gist of premise have to do with religion? Did you even bother reading my statement or just thought you could barge in here bare foot, start skiing on everyone's piss? Freedom of expression, do you agree with it or not?
Wow, obviously the Iranian Republic is planting commenters on this site to make it seems like Afraisabi won the debate. If Afraisibi loves the Islamic Republic so much, he should go back there instead of holding a professorship at an American university.
The Islamic Republic is a paranoid evil organization that thinks that Britian is behind all their problems.
Afrasiabi is wrong about Mebane's conclusion -- by the version of 22 June, Mebane was writing there was "strong support for a diagnosis that the 2009 election was affected by significant fraud." I guess he is also referring to 1953 when he is talking about Britain? It certainly shows he has a conspiratorial frame of mind. This plays well in some quarters in Iran, but doesn't go down well with Western viewers.
Exactly. What the hell is Afrasiabi talking about? Mebane's conclusion (latest version - June 26th) show there's strong support for there being "widespread fraud" in the Iranian elections. The latest version of his analysis states that "The patterns...strongly suggest there was ballot box stuffing". Also, it "shows that the proportion of votes for each of the candidates does change in ways that suggest that without fraudulent activity the election would have had a very different outcome."
The globalists rhetoric regarding democracy is nothing more than disgusting hypocrisy and a ruse to disguise their ruthless appetites for expansionism. It is ridiculous that these Western globalists count amongst their allies the most repressive regimes in existence, yet have the insolence to criticise the democratically elected government of Iran about democracy simply because the majority of Iranians have no wish to see their nation capitulate before the colossus of neo-liberal capitalism.
A country is not a democracy when 4 people choose who the candidates are. If you are Iranian, you are a stupid propaganda believer, and if you are not Iranian, you are a pathetic leftist.
As the plot to disturb the Iranian Revolution withers, so the tone of the Western media will change. Their violent & abusive attacks will recede into more routine smear & insinuation. While noting the Revolution's commitment to democratic choice, as evident by the diverse views of the candidates presented, all progressives must encourage the Iranian government to conduct a more rigorous assessment of future candidates lest yet another proxy of Wall Street attempt to capture the Presidency.
Wow, you are definately an employee of the Islamic Republic. Earlier on one of these videos somebody with a different user name (drankstuart) wrote the exact same comment, word for word! They don't even let you think of your own propaganda talking points??
Watch the part 2 and you see what a pillock Ali Ansari is... I can not believe this guy works in St Andrews Uni..!! Obviously the standards have fallen sharply in Scotland...
Ansari was so childish when he got up and left.
Watching Marandi refute Ansari's claims was also very impressive.

How can you have a thoughtful and informative discussion when you invite 3 thugs to debate this matter.
