Very nice video! While hindsight is 20-20, I still thought I could give some constructive criticism.
First, I don't know why you were driving down the right side of the front-straight but if you stayed on-line to the left and then went wide you might have made it through. Also, the move you made into Turn 1 was kind of a dive bomb :), really begging for a bad situation.
The reason why I was sticking to the right side of the front straight was because in the National series the cars have a modified rear wing to promote a draft, which is crucial to learn how to use. Naturally I was trying to follow in the aerodynamic wake of the fastest car so I could make up some ground.
I began to drift back to the left of the track and was braking at the usual braking point for T1, Dorrbecker was just slow and turned in to avoid the accident and hit me.
yeah the National uses the BFGoodrich R1 race tire...it's a great tire that has a long life and decent amount of grip to get us through a 2 race weekend
tough luck. I actually saw all this happen from the top of the bleachers. I can see myself there at the end of the vid. I was walking next to you heading back to the paddock.
incredible how these guys can get a start right but indycar can't.

are they sequential or are they manual with a clutch? and do you need the hans device for it
gillard36 2 years ago
@gillard36 Sequential.
CenasChainGang619 1 year ago
@gillard36 sequential; lift for upshift, but clutch for downshift
you don't need hans, but you should use it

Hmm. That makes more sense then. Just looking at the video it was a bit unclear who was slow and who was quick through T1

On the Skip Barber Nationals there are a ton of overagressive drivers that have too much confidence and too little skill

some but not all.

hence the "a ton", not "all".
