I just saw QoS. This would've been perfect. The Opening scene with Another Way to Die didnt do the film any justice. Chris Cornell's You Know My Name was the best, and this would've suited just perfect.
I like this version better than Charlene Huskinson's version, but any version I have heard is better than the Jsck White/Alicia Keyes nonsense. Jo Harrop's version and Huck Whitney's version are also good.
This version is pretty good, as are the Jo Harrop and Huck Whitney versions. It is ironic that the worst version is the White-Keys version that is to be used in the film. It proves Hollywood has gone to Hell and that today's yuppie producers don't know their asses from their elbows about quality aesthetic, emotional music.
WOW! I really love this song. It has the same class ans the older themes and at the same time a little of the new "You Know MY Name"-type of style.
Too bad they chose Alicia Keys song instead.. It makes me cry since I'm a huge bond-fan who hates Keys. I don't see how they can expect people to like their choice.

sorry but although this may not jump out as a classic...the alicia keys thing is a train wreck....i was also against craig as bond and still thinks he looks wrong...BUT he DID do a damn good job (i read all the original novels as a teen). Craig struck me as the remorseless bastard you would need on a high stakes mission. Bond is taking a new direction after 40 years...i will miss the old style but you cannot deny the new ones have a new style. And Craig is a fine actor.

I was disappointed with this, no offense by the way. The guitar riffs were good, but the main vocals, I thought, were too loud. Also the backing violins were a bit tinny and I found the chanting of "the quantum of solace" annoying because of the fact it was kinda flat and had no real place in the song. The singer has a good voice whoever it is and the lyrics were clever in the way they related to the previous film, seeing as the two seem to be strongly linked.
Overall the balance of loud singer seemingly just trying to show off and the slightly cheap sounding backing effects just made something that tried to be serious and had potential sound a bit like an attempt whereby half of the people involved were trying too hard and others were quite scared. good try though, I agree in that studio editing would do wonders. Though this is also true with a lot of already successful artists.
