Can you show us a video of how you setup your scope and mount before imaging? Like how you polar align, how you shoot darks & flats, how you focus, etc.
im new to this astro photography world after seeing steve loughran pics on m31 im so hooked what did your setup cost around and have you a site of pics you have taken. any advice will be helpful. thanks
@gcirc It costs around $3000 CDN for the mount, main cam and guidecam. Of course u need a computer as well. The scope can be a newt from $400 all the way up to a APO for $20K.

Yes, I have had this happen...When I started out, used a canon camera .. Try using a POWERED USB hub to connect the camera and guide cam, etc. to the computer and keep to approx (20 ft max) of usb cable beween the hub and cam. USB is only 3.3 volts and the loss via multiple and long cables can cause this problem. I never had drop outs again after doing this!
how do you keep Nebulosity from loosing it's USB connection? It seems every time I use Nebulosity I loose my connection and I'm always having to exit the program and then execute it again. I'm using a Canon 350D camera. I'm always getting a Nebulosity message Can't Find Camera. After powering on/off the camera and restartng Nebulosity, it's works again awhile until I move my scope to another image.
Well some think 60 lbs is the max.. My setups usually run around 50 lbs I think..haven't had any issues or excessive gear wear.

Hi Phil. I use Starry Night Pro, just for visual use. All guiding is done thru PHD guiding by Stark Labs.
