This is what I interpret from this video: calliou is jealous of his parents using cups to drink, so he gets one himself. He drops it on the ground, and his mom utters some bizzare noise that fatally wounds the cat. They take him to the vet and have him put down, and on the way home they get in a car crash and calliou's dad is ok, but calliou dies. So there you go.
