GSP was a killer when he only used Kyokushin karate, he started to learn muay thai and boxing and started to fight with more caution and when he learned Wresling he lost the rest ofhis killer instinct
@breeeee100 Or,,,,He realised he had a good style where he could use the opponents weaknesses, plus his own strengths to minimise the chances of losing. He still has the killer instinct, people just seem to forget this is a sport and his goal is to win. Look at all the greats who didn't adapt....Chuck, Fedor, Cro Cop, Wandy...If you don't evolve, you'll lose.
@AttackTheGasStation1 It's a French name found all over France or the French sphere wolrdwide. I'm a creole and I know people with name like this. He looks like the people of a certain Norman region of France as my French ancestry are from that region. Tall and strongly built. People of Britanny are very tough too abd tend to travel all over the world. I have cousins that can trace their ancestry to Britanny. Normans and britons are very tough people anyway and tend to migrate together.
@MrSanctuarys ur an idiot cuz it hurts for everyone and ur so insecure u cant addmit it hurts and that sucks for u cuz clearly u dnt have as good training cuz it should hurt if u were to have proper training fkn retard
@koflan I am baseing his power knock out power from his last few fights in the ufc, that he did stand up and fight with. he only knocked out matt hus with head kick. he does not have that one punch knock out power. hope this makes more sence to what I am trying to say
@lastrosenfeld Of course I understand what you're saying. I just think that's a very easy thing to say. Sheer power isn't all there is to knocking people out. Anderson Silva isn't a power puncher, but he KO's when he comes to fight. Anyway, you could just as easily say that GSP's opponents don't have knockout power because they didn't knock him out. Besides, I don't think committing to a standing KO was really part of the Jackson game plan in those fights. Maybe he'll KO Jake Shields, who knows.
I use Wooden broom handle to roll up and down shins while watching tv,,( also great for tapping shins rapidly at about 10% strength) painful at first but really pays off,,,,,Dont over do it,, its not worth it
@wachauferopa i,m in kyokushin karate the way we strenthen our shins are with wood take a small bar of wood and literrely bang it on your shin untill they turn red and blue keep doing it for a long period of time and the you can,t feel anything because you shin have nervs and your killing the nervs and there for making your shin numb.
@shawnkoolman1 thats not hardening the shins,to harden them youve have to increase bone density and to do that youd need to be hitting stuff pretty hard like a heavy bag.
your not longer a beginner I see, you made this post 5 months ago, I want to give you some good advice on conditioning your shins , you just do about 100 lowkicks on the heavy bag per leg , and you build up your power and speed each day , the first time your legs will be a bit blue but , don't do the techniques of tapping the shin with a hard object , that's bad for your nerves , kicking the bag is the safest way to build up bonemass in your shin
Take a round wooden dowel / Broom stick and roll it up and down your shins. Once you hit enough times your nerves begin to numb and you begin to build a higher pain threshhold.
@wachaufeuropa it depends really, some people take years to kick at that frequency. when i first started i could kick really quick and hard on thaipads, although with crappy technique.
@wachaufeuropa There is definitely conditioning that you acquire and in my experience it doesn't take all that long to develop as long as you're consistent with training. Although, you bled from kicking thai pads? That's somewhat concerning. Did you catch laces or something?
@wachaufeuropa Hundreds of kicks per practice. If you start training muay thai, especially when young while the body's still developing and bones are still growing, all the tiny bone fractures you get from practice heal over and form secondary layers of bone, making the leg stronger.
Obviously Le Banner's still a ridiculously athletically gifted man with bones the density of diamonds but constant, constant practice is the best way to make your legs tougher.
@wachaufeuropa You'll build up resistance, you can also condition your shin by kicking the heavy bag at home without guards. It is going to hurt for a few months but if you keep it up you'll build up your shin to take the hit and you won't hurt as bad.
@wachaufeuropa just give it some time. i have a bag with a hard part on it and at first, it was a bitch to kick after a while. Just do it often. I'm starting to do more kicks because i feel it less and less
@wachaufeuropa both, you lean to gage when and when not to kick hard enough to hurt.. after a while, your nerve die out fro contant stress and banging and you can deal with it
why is GSP fighting southpaw?

is gsp left handed or does just swich stances. also I find that gsp does not realy have knockout power.
lastrosenfeld 1 year ago
@lastrosenfeld He uses both. A lot of righty wrestlers will stand southpaw so they can shoot off their strong leg. Also, have you sparred GSP?

@Cadillacphat What do you mean it's not worth it? And when do you know you've over done it?

@wachaufeuropa
It's years of kicking the bag and focus mitts. Eventually your body adapts to the rigors of training.
And I know how you feel...I still limp out of the dojo 7 out of 10 times!
leglion 2 years ago 9
Guys how does he kick so many times without shin guard ? Im a beginner and I did that...Hurts like hell...Started to bleed...
Do you build resistance over the years ? Or is there a technique to strengthen the shins ? Thx

Don't worry you will biuld resitance with your training ;)

@wachaufeuropa
Yeah it's just repetition, You get used to it.
But speaking on this video. He really should find someone else besides JLB to train with because GSP's weaknesses are not JLB's strengths.
