  • I've never heard of Julian Bream, but I do love the socks.

  • good playing but what do the socks have to do with this?

  • THANKS for the great performing, but I´d like to know what have I listened to. BTW I don´t mind if you are J.B. or not, I´m not in personality cult.

    P.S. Get decent socks :)

  • nice socks bro *chuckle*

  • one time ago I've seen Bream with the same socks

  • incredibly funny

  • PHONY! Julian Bream would never wear socks like those!!

  • pikhøved But you can play.no doubt about it

  • Je suis hilare

  • maybe his real name is also julian bream,,who knows?

  • You're cute and you can play. You should post the name of what you are playing, though.

  • I think somebody does't undertand your humor.

Listen... What's the name oabout this music?

Is it possible to have the score?

    Thanks

P.S.you went well there was sensitivity but you have to study more

  • LIES

  • Beautiful! but very bad that you are using JULIAN BREAM's name! please dont! you wont be JULIAN BREAM in 100 years for doing that.

  • Great socks!

  • I like your socks and your ukulele

  • As good as any I have heard. Thank you for sharing your talent. Hope yours is a contented life.

  • what the $#@!

  • very good... and i like your socks!

  • I know he is now in his later years but even so, it's sad to see he has declined to such a sad level. A once great man just a shambolic wreck. Tragic.

  • where did you get your instrument

  • Hahahaha, this is funny, i thought for a second it was julian bream, the old one. i LIKE THE COMMENT ON THE SOCKS.

  • EXCELLENT!

  • Very nice socks, Mr. Bream!

  • BEAN, Julian BEAN, not Bream

  • antiBream

  • baroque clothes

  • ¿Y para qué propósito escribistes así? Solamente de mostrar a todos su inmadurez y ignorancia y también su vocabulario primitivo...

  • this Bream? pretty uncertain on the fretboard - and he should get his technicians to set him up instead of wandering all over the studio himself in pyjamas. disappointing

  • your playing gets five stars, your socks get ten

  • I love your playing!

  • damn, I can't get my eyes off of his socks :))))

  • his name could be really Julian Bream ^-^ wow. anyway, you play like Julian Bream whom i know ^^

  • I wanted to send you to hell... but you actually play well, so I forgive you for the title. :)

  • Marizápalos...

  • I will give you 5 stars because of the 'courage' ;) and you also play well, keep it like that :)

  • you are not julian bream. ....

    nice socks though

  • I hate that you impersonated unless you happened to have identical name.

Playing actually isn't bad at all.

  • how dare you

  • i hate people who have to write names of popular artist in the discription to get more viewers do you still belive that you will earn more good ratings with that?

unfortunaly i have to give 1 star

i would gave 0 if i would be possible...

  • Maybe rename it: "On My Trip to the Netherlands, I Bashed a Baroque Guitar Over the Head of Geminiani25".......Now THAT

    s a Fuckin Title...........

  • Maybe his name is Julian Bream too? But I give two stars - nothing interesting.

  • @agvap the point's the music, silly

  • @agvap read the description, it is pretty funny... and its clear from the thumbnail that its not bream so I don't know what you were expecting too see. Im sure hes not too bothered what you rate it as or he probably would have listed it with his own name. you need to chill

  • Idiot time waster saying 'Julian Bream plays Baroque Guitar'

  • Qué bien te conservas, se te ve muy joven para tu edad

  • No está mal la españoleta a pesar de los calcetines.

  • lol nice joke dude, btw you are a good player, but seriousy, where can i get those socks?

  • ¿Donde conseguiste ese instrumento?

  • What the!? I thought this was going to be Julian Bream and it's Jiles Brimley!

Anyway, cool playing though... nice guitar and cool socks!

  • False advertising

  • @guitafun This is more like Julian Bozo and his dime store ukelele

  • Lucky rainbow socks!!!

  • ¡¿What the hell are that socks?! Just Bozo can use that and look well.

  • bream would never wear multi coloured socks

  • Whoever geminiani25 is, perhaps the guy you're saying is Julian Bream is really named Julian "Bweam" (with a w) but just has a speech impediment, so it sounded like Bream when he introduced himself! The famous Bream namesake would be at least age 70. Not bad playing, but I'm suspicious of a farce/misrepresentation-I mean,if there's another guitarist Julian Bream (whether relative of famous one or not)it would seem an already newsworthy item, or someone should now run a documentary to verify it.

  • hes 80 ish

  • born 1933 so getting close!

  • i can,t accept it

  • Basically, it's Marizapalos by Gaspar Sanz..

But after checking the sheet music for the piece, it seems like he improvized a little on the theme, OR combined this piece with 1 or 2 another pieces of Gaspar Sanz. Either way, it sounds fantastic.

  • great playing , but what the hell are you wearing on your feet?, could be the lower part of a jester's outfit? fits the music?

seriously though nice playin and piece to play!

  • The gentleman plays the baroque guitar well and may be Julian Bream, but not he's not The Julian Bream. If there's one, why not another? There are, after all, two John Williams', both well known musicians, though only one of those two is famous for playing the classical guitar.

  • It's certainly not the more well known chap, who does not have so much hair on his head and probably wears more sensible shoes.

  • TWO!?!

there's the guitarist, the film composer, the oboe player, and the accordianist that I know of, and I'm pretty sure they're all different people.

  • I'm sure they are and this guy is a different person, too. I have no idea who he is or if his name really is Julian Bream. He plays Baroque guitar well enough, though. "The" Julian Bream, the famous one, is much older and plays a 10-string classical guitar that he invented.

  • Just in case anyone's genuinly confused - that was Narciso Yepes! (early 1960s) OK, since I seem to be in "pedant" mode at the moment I should point out that 10 string guitars existed in the early 19th century though most had lower strings that were only playable unfretted.

By the way, I play guitar (badly) and happen to share my name with a famous guitarist. Small world!

  • You're right. The ten string is Yepes', not Bream's. I confused the two. That's not pedantry. As for historical guitar variations, there were very many. See "Guitar, An American Life" by Tim Brookes. He combines a story of the history of the guitar with the story of having a new custom built guitar made after his Fylde is damaged by airport baggage handlers. Me, I play guitar like a beginner since that's what I am. Later on, I will play the guitar badly ;-).

  • This is great, but what is the name of the piece?

  • I live just across the road from Julian Bream, above his local McDonalds, & can confirm that this is what he looks like these days.

Sounds like a Gaspar Sanz piece. This sort of music always sounds prettier on baroque guitar :)

  • Yep it is definitely Julian no matter the body transformation: he's wearing his trademark rainbow slippers , his lucky ones!

  • Holy crap, Julian lost alot of weight AND got hair implants. I gotta say, I prefer the old look!

  • The ageing process has obviously gone into reverse.

  • This instrument sounds like a Cuban 12-string or a Tres to me. I can almost hear the percussion. It's the paired strings doing octtaves. Brighter than modern guitar too. Interesting. If you've ever heard a guitar player who specializes in guajiro music, you know what I'm talking about. Bet their instrumetns came from this one. Love Bream. Thanks for posting.

  • Regardless the titling of the video, this is a lovely piece played *very* nicely on a beautiful instrument. Bravo!

p.s. I dig the socks, too.

p.p.s. I'm convinced to save my pennies to have either a baroque guitar or a vihuela de mano made for myself. [and again, bravo!]

  • I guess everbody needs their 5 minutes of fame even if they have to borrow it from somebody else.Nice playing all the same.Maybe you can borrow Julians white jacket next time to compliment the socks

  • I can write for you any sheet music

  • até que tocou bem.........hehehehehe

  • I think this is not Julian...sucker

  • Bad joke. But not bad interpretation

  • Fantasía para un Gentilhombre from Rodrigo part II :)

  • man that was really bad ass, but why did you end it like that?

  • Colorful socks, colorful playing, but not Julian Bream by a long shot!

  • LOL. Yes I second this request!

  • Mauvaise plaisanterie - bad joke!

  • dont force the comparison of mr.Bream and ur self...u can only loose...that being said this was nice and for the most part well played....Bream is ur mt. everest so start climbing.

  • its nothing like julian bream = but nice playing though. andypandywright

  • Hey Julian you look so young for your age ;-) Very nice playing!

  • nicely played,

  • What do you mean that's not Bream? This is Julian Bream I see it with my own eyes. And nice playing too! Thanks.

  • The costume would be complete with a court jester's hat and bells. Nice playing though. This sort of music is wistful melancholy. Time stands still.

  • this is a renneisans lute

  • Assuma sua identidade e seu valor !

  • some of you assume that there is only one Julian Bream who plays the guitar.

  • WTF!? where is J. Bream? ... Funny socks LOL, just keeps on laughing can't help looking at it.

  • I actually rather watch this than Julian Bream... the sound is so different than any normal guitar. good song too. :) who are you trying to be ne ways, Mozart? maybe one day you will get there, keep playin!

  • Thanks for posting this... would like to see more Baroque guitar videos...

  • you dickhead,,,julian clown !!!!

  • what's the origin of this guitar?

  • You play well but those socks really suck.

  • IDIOT

  • Good performance!

No person like him bro.you batter to use your real name.

  • lol..julian bream my ass

  • What a clown! Using the name of a virtuoso master as a leader to get an audience! Not cool! You should be ashamed of yourself. Get a new outfit as well as a new gimmick to get people to watch you.

  • julian, you've changed! you've lost weight and gotten younger. oh, btw, i like your ukelele.

  • I was really disappointed not to hear the Real Julian Bream!

  • Good. An interesting harness you have there to hold the guitar--worth a try.

  • Thanks. I love Julian's clown socks.

  • Julian Bream plays Baroque Guitar, but not on this video. I think you should change the name of your video-it is very misleading, improper and not very funny. The playing however is quite good!

  • I agree. Keep practicing.

BTW, I saw videos of Julian Bream here on youtube.

    No such socks. :)

  • Lovely, "Jules". Where did you get the instrument?

  • Nice sound I've just posted some of my own guitar playing on youtube unfortunatly I'm not Julian Bream but any advice and comments would be gratefully appreciated, thanks .mikegroocockguitar.

  • Nice. But what's up with those socks? Did mom make them? hmmmm.... Still the music is good.

  • not a very nice joke. don't play it so straight, bream would take some liberties, you don't want it sounding "machine-gun". Nice playing.

  • ummm but your no Julian Bream....

  • Belle musique, bravo!

  • nice but i hate that guitar dont know why but god playing dude

  • A disgrace to Bream and to music/guitars in general.

  • FUCK YOU NOOB! UR NO BREAM!

    but uh nice playing...baroque owns

  • ummm..you are no Julian Bream, you need a bit of a lot more practice to compare yourself to him

  • How dare you use a ledgend, like Julian Bream to pull a stunt like this....shame on you, I hope that he doesn't see it, his ears will fall off!!!!breamlute16

  • Wow, someone wants attention.

  • i can almost see the similarity.. that is IF bream suddenly became an ugly retard and lost half his fingers in a woodchipper.

  • Before this I never knew you were a cunt. Thanks.

  • Nice playing, never mind the serious folks who get all bent out of shape. Is the baroque guitar the same as 'altguitar'?

  • you have insulted a legend

  • Hey man, very nice playing and the baroque guitar sounds really charming. But now you know that a lot of people are very touchy about using someone else's name. And any other matters touching on identity theft or plagiarism. It is not a joking matter, in the same way as joking about bombs or jihad in airport immigration is not a joking matter. You could have saved yourself a lot of trouble by using "Julian Bream WANNABE plays Baroque Guitar." I suggest you pull this off the site immediately.

  • Dear nlimnj, thankyou for your thought provoking comments. First of all, it is not me playing, funny how everyone assumes that. And second, I feel like leaving it at Julian - something in me is entertained by all the interesting comments. I did seriously consider changing to "Jihadist plays baroque guitar" - thanks for the inspiration.

  • jerk

  • u look like Pippi Langstrumpf

  • nice music but why the fuck do you misuse breams name?

if you want to be clicked at call yourself coke or nike or whatever you like

  • is it a double strung guitar? I wonder on your right hand technique.

  • I like your sox...

    :D

    What piece is this?

  • That looks like a Baroque Guitar, use google images to find a pic

  • and yes your socks somehow add to your overall effect, keep up the good work.Anyone who disrespects this guys playing is a fucking idiot. You have no idea what goes into learning to have the tone this guy does.Toe stripey socks or not.

  • I like your playing, very nice coming from a fellow classical guitarist and one who shares interest in period instruments and the music written , then, for them.

  • dude, nice playin. keep ur head up. nevermid the blokes

  • Yeah, how did you go about getting this guitar? A few flubs aside I really liked the tone. Still better than I can play it.

  • I don't care who you think you are, thanks for the

Sanz video. Good playing. Now I want a Baroque Guitar.

  • If he didn't portray himself as Bream, you may have had more of an open mind toward his playing. In my opinion, it is a good thing that young people are interested in period instruments ... or even just being into Renaissance and/or Baroque music with modern instrumnts.

  • very nice

  • Wow, you are all so serious! Do you really think Im serious giving a title like this? Don't take life so seriously guys!

  • i seriously luv ur socks

  • What a fake. Awful, bad guitar playing, and awful to look at as well. I got a great idea of turning you in to in, that should be fun to see your ass sued off.

  • Fake name, bad guitar playing, what's your problem?

  • That's not a guitar, it could be a vihuela.

  • Julian Bream ? HeHehe you just fag ass with those straps and don't use the name of real classic guitar legends thats bat joke... I know you fags have a tendency to be proud of yourself. But you are just a LUST!

  • Gaspar Sanz?

Who made your baroque guitar, and is that a custom strap?
