  • I believe 299,000 miles. When I had one, I started with 150,000 miles on it. ended with 330,000 miles on it, if not for a deer hit and me wrecking it, I'd still have it.

  • ive got a 95 cherokee 4.0 high output with about 143,000 miles on it and it runs like a champ. never had to do anything to the engine or tranny except change fluids and put in new batteries, alternators, spark plugs and wires, and rotary cap and button. probably the best engine put in the jeep

  • Who ever said the 4.0 as junk, never had one...They last forever and one reason they are no longer made...The decision to drop the Cherokee and replace it with the Liberty was the worst ever, as most Cherokee onwers will tell ya...Mines a 95, the first year they were full Chrysler made, but the 4.0 goes back to the AMC days...I have no plans to sell it, although like many Cherokees, I've got to fix the floor boards...Might fall out it, but never fall apart!..lol...

  • Not a V6. Inline 6 buddy. Big difference.

  • Hey, mr. fords suck, guess who made the first jeep? lol

  • i bought an 89 2 door from my neighbor, he had it rebuilt, trans and motor, at 130,000 miles, its now at 180,000 and running strong, this video gives me confidence i bought a solid vehicle! thanks!

  • ya buddy thats a straight 6 not a v6

  • 4.0s are not junk they last forever till the end of time!!!!

  • @TheSafistaFaded This one lasted until 332,000, that's when I sold it and it still ran like a champ!

  • Awesome jeep, i am trying to buy a white 89 4 door, only 98,000 original miles! I HOPE I GET IT

  • I am 13, My mother wh is 53 drives a 1994 Jeep Cherokee, Its a black two door, five speed standard. She said its the best car she has ever owned. But it is sitting in a friends driveway waiting to be shipped and get away from our crazy family...After all it did hit my uncles face with the hood, He said, "It was a shitbox" and it hit him. We are VERY SUSPICIOUS. :D My mom wants to.But doesn't have the money. DONT WORRY BESSIE!!!!

  • @CalamityBentriniti DOOOON'T keep it stock! Jack her up, throw some swampers on it and some air lockers. Plus some KC's and a winch, you have a bad ass rig! I have a 95 Cherokee with a 3 inch lift, gunna do a 7.5 inch long arm lift on it next :D

  • @videoclip425 I will do that, When my baby is mine so I can drive her. My mom owns it now, She said, Its beat every mother fuckers car in the family, and outlived everyone. Yeah we're crazy. So is our Jeep. They dont think we normla. But our jeep like backfired in my uncles face when he said that. That was MIGHTY FREAKING CREEPY. :D

  • @CalamityBentriniti That is not creepy, that is sweet. That just shows that cars have feelings. :D lol

  • @FordsSuck95 Haha, Our Jeep is pure awesome, Its got a scratch that runs the whole side of the drivers side, And evryone says, Its ugly, its got missing bumper caps, well you know what, screw you and your toyota or honda, ill stick with my ol jeep. even my grandma said once, "Fuck new cars. Ill stick with the cherokee." so yeah. hahahaha

  • makes me feel better, I have a 2001 Grand with the 4.0 l6 and it has a 150.000 miles on her with a new trans put on like 7 thousand miles ago. Very nice jeep and in great shape to!!!

  • @rkoduke3d Thanks man, keep that thing going and it will last forever, or close to it.

  • man do you know what the paint code on that thing is i want to restore my old 89 jeep cherokee and i want her to have the good ol black paint!????

  • @brandondarr No I dont man, sorry.

  • Who says 4.0s are junk? I've heard only good about them... Of course, I live in a jeep town.

  • I love 4.0's. The only problem is Chrsyler. I have a 1999 jeep gc with the 4.0 and I've literally replaced the whole cooling system (water pump, hoses, radiator, thermostat, radiator cap, coolant, etc.). Otherwise it's been great! I have a video of it doing 0-60 in 7.5 seconds. Check it out if you can

  • @drippinblood28 Really, I have not had any problems with my cooling system except the thermostat. Checked out ur video man, awesome. Thanks for the comment.

  • @drippinblood28 hi, thats funny i watched the same vid as you. today i got a 1989 jeep cherokee laredo 4.0, fuel injected. most of this years jeeps were still carbed. i havent brought it home yet. it still runs, 139,000 miles on it. i havent brought it home yet

  • @dnl5649 thats what happens when you're obssessed with jeeps

  • @drippinblood28 ha ha ha ha!!! lol i am obsessed with jeeps! im crazy about them! and saturday im going to drive one home, or at least i hope i am. they guy that owns it is gone and he abandoned it on this guy i know's land so its like his but its also someone elses and i want it. he wants to give it to me but he has to get the title. its a JUNK jeep but it isnt anything i cant fix. im going to post a video soon,i hope.my computer isnt letting me upload a vid. it uploads it halfway then it stops

  • @dnl5649 Sounds sweet man. Jeeps are the toughest vehicles in the world. PERIOD.

  • @FordsSuck95 im with you on that one 100% !

they are extremly tough, will outlast just about everything and anything, are very fun, they are fast, they do flip kind of easily though, and are cheap and easy to work on.

  • @drippinblood28 lmao.

  • @dnl5649 Thats a real low mileage Jeep man. Good deal!

  • @FordsSuck95 i know! im very happy. its still not 100% mine, the guy that owned it abandoned it on my friends lot and its been there for 3 years so its technically my friends but he has to get the title and give it to me because im underage so i cant go and get it

  • american quality :)

  • Love my 1989 Jeep Cherokee 2Dr (automatic) has 209,200 miles. Looks exactly like yours, same color, red pin stripe, everything. Pretty cool.

  • I have an 88 with 325,000 runs great, I also pulled out that damn annoying buzzer in the fuse panel.

  • That is what I am about to do, that thing is starting to get annoying. They are damn good engines. Thanks for the comment.

  • @FordsSuck95

They definately are, I've heard stories of them going well over 500,000. anyway if you cant find the buzzer it's a black vertical rectangle on the far left side of the fuse box under the dash on drivers side. i'm restoring my cherokee, i did the interior now i'm working on the outside, (lots of rust) but i'm happy with it because it's the last year AMC made the cherokee.

  • That is one good thing about my Cherokee. Not one dab of rust on the thing.

  • @FordsSuck95 my jeep doesnt have much rust either. it has more rust on the driveshaft than any part of the car, the rest of it still has the rubber undercoating from the factory!

  • @dnl5649 Same here man, it is spotless underneath.

  • @FordsSuck95 i know you say ford sucks but can your jeep last to 475,000 miles?! i dont think so, my mercury cougar lasted 475,381.9 miles before the engine seized. it was running pretty bad before it died. the engine was NEVER rebuilt, i have all of the service records and gas milage logs to prove the milage and no engine work what-so-ever.

  • @dnl5649 Fords dont suck, that was just a joke and it stuck. My F100 has 369,000 miles on it. I dont have a doubt that this jeep will make it that far. Runs great, holds 80 pounds of oil pressure.

  • Who ever says 4.0 are JUNKS are frkn retarted!! i have a XJ 1995 4.0High Output.. pretty damn strong for a 4.0engine!

  • Yeah they rock. Thanks for the comment.

  • i got an 89 cherokee to,the only problem with mine is the guy who i got it from over heated it and blew the head gasket, but while i got the head off im going to port and polish it should add up top 40 hp.

  • Yeah they are really good vehicles, this one is stock, but it still runs good. Thanks for the comment.

  • i had one exactly like that but i wrecked it going through some mud

  • @sk8rnate322 That sucks, thanks for the comment.

  • Yeah, I love it, thanks for the comment.

  • I'm approaching 193K on my '99 4.0. The rearend is making noise, and the alt is failing, but I still love it. Now if I could just finish paying the damn thing off, lol

  • The engine will last you forever, Never had any of those problems with mine but the alternator.

  • That reminds me, I gotta make that video, I am gonna do this soon, I promise. Gotta get on that.

  • ive got a coldstart vid made on the jeep so ill upload it tomorrow

  • Thanks I appreciate it.

  • Hey how is the dodge ram running ??

  • Running pretty good buddy. Thanks for the comment.

  • I can't believe that it runs that good, I am not sure why it turns over about 5 times before it starts but I hear that they are all like that. Thanks for the comment.

  • Yeah, it is, thanks for the comment.

  • Who the Hell says the 4.0 is junk? I have NEVER heard that!

  • A lot of kids at my school say that the old 4.0 is junk, and I have heard some people in the internet say that, thanks for the comment.

  • hold on one second, the almighty 4.0L is a straight 6 not that fake ass v6 Jeep had.

  • Yeah this one is a straight six, thanks for the comment.

  • wow it must have been treated really good its whole life!

  • It has been treated really good maintain wise, we change the oil every 3,000 miles, and we use it for huntin, and whatever else we need it for, thanks for the comment.

  • most jeep 4 liters are inline 6 cylinder engines

  • That is what this is, thanks for the comment.

  • Don't ever get rid of it, man!

  • I do not think, but maybe some day. Thanks for the comment.

  • nice!!!

  • Thanks, I like your Jeep too, can you do a cold start of it, thanks for the comment.

  • nice man started up nice even with 300,000 miles

  • Yeah, it has never gave up, thanks for the comment.

  • 300,000 miles wow!!

  • The old inline 6's last forever, thanks for the comment.

  • Nice Man Thanks for the video

  • Still runs good, don't she? Thanks for the comment.

  • jeeps blah i almost bought the heep it barley started lol

  • Man, look at how many miles it has on it though, thanks for the comment.

  • my freind had a 1989 VW jetta with

     45?,000 miles on it

  • Damn, that is a lot of miles, it is probably diesel, is it? Thanks for the comment.

  • naw it was a gas one. scary thing to ride in. it ran great, could have used a new throwout bearing in the clutch. but im not sure how the rest of the car passed inspections. it was so rusty. he had to drive with the windows open year round, because the floor had holes in it and the exhaust system had a leak just infront of the cab. so it would smoke you out if the windows werent down. none of the interior lights worked, dash lights included. and the licence plates were held on with baling twine.

  • That is what I like about this Jeep, it does not have a bit of rust on it.

  • keep it that way!

  • awsome i love these old jeeps!!

  • I do too buddy. Thanks for the comment.
