This is Bank St. Crossing I think it used to be known as Coast Guard crossing. going east from here you will get to State St Xing, Gov. Winthrop Xing. move up to Mystic you have School St, Broadway extension, Latimers point, Wamphassuc, 2 private Walkers Dock and Freeman's Island the to Pawcatuck to Palmer St.
There is 1 crossing in Pawcatuck, CT(Palmer. ST), 3 crossings between Palmer ST. and Mystic, CT, 1 at the Mystic Train Station, 4 in New London, and 1 in Waterford, CT.
I just read this in a 1994 article..."The only 13 grade crossings left in the entire Northeast Corridor are between Old Lyme and Stonington,CT" ...That may have changed since.
I know of 3 locally here that I'll try to photo! More coming soon!
why so slow??

@xXfutureflyaXx It's a pretty congested area. Multiple crossings, parking lots, train station, etc.

question, I thought the entire ACELA route was grade crossing Free? How many crossing are north of NYC
danielday36 2 years ago
How can they still have grade crossings? Real high speed trains do not have crossing gates. Crazy!
pwcmba 2 years ago
yea, just crazy, a train cant even have gates at 25MPH!

some states don't want to pay for a dedicated High Speed Line. Like Connecticut and Rhode Island.
