Great performance, especially after so many years after this song was first released (1980?) Not many bands are able to maintain such a fresh and vibrating sound for so long... Just wonderful!
I met Mark King and Mike Lindup at Heathrow coming back from Amsterdam. I asked for a picture and they obliged, we had a quick chat and they were off. Really nice guys. the funny thing is i had Starchild paying on my IPod at the time i bumped into them.
Awesome, if you are American, nationalism does not apply to music. I ate dinner with the 'Queers'. Awesome punk band circa 1980. They were grown but they ROCK and can prove that punk lives. They were hangin' with Henry Rollins when he was in black flag.
After all old bands goes into reunion usually for live concerts only, Level 42 makes a great whole new, refreshing album and do great job live. Class!!!

It has always been one of my wishes, that Level 42 returns to the beginning of their succes on a brandnew album..... Less is more funk. So more songs like Love Games and Starchild.
first time i herd this was @ vinyl mania in the village iwas just getting my record collection together and manny the guy who worked ther at the time asked me if i wanted it,i asked him to play it for me and i loved it ever since! thanks dude!
imagine what this would sound like if prince covered it, it would b interesting 2 hear...funky breakdance and dj classic, u all just don't know how free we truly were when this came out...hip hop classic 4 ever. 4 those who know!!
Terrific song...is it just me, or did vintage L42 songs like this remind anyone else of classic Michael Jackson? I'm referring to his "Off the Wall" album primarily...his "Baby Be Mine" tune has very Level 42-esque bass lines and keyboards
Mike's voice is flawless here. Mark does not appear "weary" here as this performance is full of vibrant energy. These guys get better every year as practice makes perfect.
Man.. Brings back memories!! A group that was heavy in Europe, only to be shortchanged in America. I saw them in concert 25 years ago, would love to see them again.....
This jam is so classic, I can recall listening to little louie vega jammin this track @ club ceilo & the base & the crowd man i need some air can't breath, ok the vibe was so amzin can't really explain, everyone was in such a trance love classic disco/jazz .
Hi Madeleine - a Noel Edmonds shirt is a shirt Noel Edmonds (TV Presenter) wears on the UK version of Deal or No Deal (usually look quite mad to say the least!)
I must tell you, Dave has the exact same shirt and it is hanging with my clothes. I look at it every day and think, "Gee I think Mark King left this here". It sure is vintage, but so cool. hahha
really when you hear this song a few times it's average. but then you start to hear every music line apart, and each the album version and this version have unique lines. not a bad choice!!!
I real tredy Dj mate of mine played the 12" of this a a recent London loft party (4am)and it rocked apparently so disco or not it must hit the right notes....!!!

I think Mikey Lindup's voice has gotten better than it was before. He can still hit the falsetto nicely.

this was and always will be my favorite Level 42 song! A true classic and Mark King is the king of bass.

They always played this one (and Turn It On) at the movie theatre where I worked.
Inbetween when people were getting seated (not the video just the music) and the commercials...
