..the prey's organs such as pancreas/liver/heart etc contain many useful enzymes to a dog consuming them, and fresh blood of prey which is consumed quickly, contains many minerals and nutrients such as calcium as do the bones which are fresh and haven't had the chance to dry out and lose nutrition. Muscle meat and sinews/tissues all contain many bioavailable nutrients that I don't believe are found in slaughtered meats that one buys in a butcher - even if it is organic etc.

@ucanleaveyourhaton Large pieces of lamb, pork, beef, chicken bone with meat attached do tend to hold sinew, tendon, skin, blood vessels (containing congealed blood) etc, so this means pretty good nutrition. With all you have described & it seems you've done your homework, this diet is pretty damn good &leagues away from processed junk food in cans & packets.

Your challenge now is improving your dogs digestion health to accept raw. Give me an honest case history & i'll help.

hello Dan - what if my dog can't digest raw meat and bones ? She has digestion issues and fats are out, as is beef and other raw meats, which make her feel sick and/or vomit/diarrhea, and eat lots of grass. Semi cooked meat can be ok though, but I don't understand how raw meat can have enzymes. Whole prey, when killed, are ideal, as the dog eats the contents of the prey's stomach which can contain a range of bioavailable nutrients due to fermentation.

@ucanleaveyourhaton Theres all sorts of enzymes in raw meat not just stomach contents and it's still a matter of argument as to whether wild dogs actively eat it out of desire, hunger or not at all.

Your dogs digestion issues need more clarity (case history) for me to speculate as to how well she could switch to a raw food diet. In the mean time if you can half cook your dogs food that helps.

Thats true ..i heard about how thier putting road kill an other dead animals in the commercial dogfood....such bull how they do that..so many animals suffering with bad health cause of this ignorance

It's ignorance that binds us to bad practices when it comes to dog nutrition. A canine diet was always meant to be raw based in line with their physiology for peak health with no down the line arthritis. Kibble and canned commercial dog food is just kicking the can down the road to the inevitable-dogs deserve a bit more thought than this, think raw.

Just remember that diet is the key to preventing arthritis in the first place. Feeding your dog a healthy raw based diet will mean arthritis has very little chance of ever being a problem as your dog hits the senior years. There are also many other benefits not least, extended worry free health to an older age compared to regular commercial fed dogs.

thanks for this post nice information. also just an hour ago i also find a nice link while searching like this information. and i found a great site also from dogarthritisblog.info check the site, cuz they post many good information all about dog arthritis.. from symptoms and treatment and medication was there.

@fudgeluckydog Hi and thanks for the link. If you get a pup start them on a raw food diet and arthritis will not be a problem. If your dog is a senior with arthritis prblems then a raw based diet will help relieve the problem and get some flexibility back into the joints-it's the best treatment bar none (forget drugs).
