  • I currently have BP and Ive had it for like...almost a month and I'm seeing signs of recovery. When did your signs start? I made a video aswell and Ive come to not even care that its paralyzed. I really dont care any more because there is defiantly more important things to think about. I do however get excited when I see its getting better. Your video really helped me and you seem like a very optometrist person like myself. Thank you =D

  • b12 is 35% and pidgeon meat helps u heal from bp faster. I have had bp atm and not fun. striodes are abit slow from whats been show online.

  • you cheer me up~~~ I had that one year and half ago~~~ :)

  • Loved your video and I watched until finished :)

    Love your personality

  • U R the only one with BP that mention twiches. I get them alot. I am now 19 weeks and my mouth is still out of alighment, my eye and nostril don't move. Well a little eye movement, I can squint just not as much. How are you now/ Please forgive the typos, Ilost my only pair of glasses.

  • I just got bp 5 days ago on 7-8. Man my eye is dry and always burns! I really hope this doesnt last long :)

  • Good luck! I am four days away from my 7th year anniversary! Your story sounds a LOT like mine! It took me about 9 months to start recovering. The best I ever got was about 97% according to my doctor. I still have sykenesis. If I puff my cheeks my eye closes:( Most people say they don't notice..but I think we'll always notice. My eye still closes a little when I smile. You are seriously my hero!

  • Hi there i have it to it sucks. i hate taking pictures.i am single woman its hard to date like this people look at me funny. I lost my job cuz my eye waters so much. i hate this it makes me so sad.Sweet C in Dallas

  • @mesco24721 Omg I had the constant eye watering as well. I went to countless eye doctors. I eventually got tear tuct surgery to stop the tearing. Taking pics is the worst for me as well. You really notice the difference in the sides of my face more. When I'm really tired now my right eye takes a little longer to open. I hope you're in better spirits now a days, all the best : )

  • The secret was wearing an eye-patch

  • it takes a while for mine to warm up in the morning and i can definitely tell a difference when i'm tired too.

  • great attitude about bp this is my first week with it. i was kind of bum.but just smile about it well half smile

  • Cool video and brilliant attiude...'enjoy what you have' very sincere message!

All BP Sufferers need to be emotionally strong, hard at first but comes with time and you need to not care so much about the cosmetics of your face, more about the inner you. Time heals all.

    GREAT HONEST VIDEO 100%

  • Thank you for this video!!!

    1 question please:

When you started to close "involuntarily" the eyelid?

  • Sorry for the delay in the reply - but about 5 to 6 months later

  • I got Bell's in the summer of 2005 and recovered by 2006. Don't worry, it gets better. I just had a relapse but now that I know what it is, I have great advice. get the medications from a doc (steroids and anti-inflamatory) BUT go see a CHIROPRACTOR! They know exactly what it is and how to resolve it. Adjustments will eventually give you

most motion back. Also, I have heard accupunture helps tremendously as well. One video showed almost perfect healing but accupunture is not as easy to find.

  • Thank you

  • thankyou so much!

  • Wow, i should really consider my self lucky, cause i have Bell's Palsy for about almost 4 weeks, and i have 90% of recovery, and every day i see movement, thank god for that, i was so depress at the beginning, thinking that i was not gonna recover completely, but now i know that i am getting there.. hope all of you get better too, i lets think positive :)

  • I like your way of thinking. Thanks for doing such a wonderful you tube. I got an infection in my ear and then a few days later my face was numb. 7 days for me. I do like you way of thinking. I am too am more greatful than other stuff.

  • ive had mine for 6 years.

  • u had urs 4 6 years? u poor thing i had mine for one year i hope its getting better =]

  • i have 4 years with Bell's Palsy...i have 26 years old..i'm so sad..but what can i do....smile people..!! saludos a todos xD

  • 9 months? crap i only had it for a lke 3

  • My daughter just got this and is pretty freaked out over it! I hear that MOST people get over it in a couple weeks. Did you go on Pregnazone? (Doctor put my daughter on this). You look good! Good luck to you.

    God Bless

  • oh my gosh!! i love ur video. im currently 17 with my wisdom teeth comming in and it hurts terribly and they wnt pull my teeth caz of the bp. im still going threw it and this has been helping me..just how do i try and make it alil less stressful and yes u have changed my veiw on the whole why me thing. but i would love to here from u and if u can help me..i would rly love it. thank you and congrats on ur recovery and how it changed ur outlook. life is unexpected

  • It feels like looking in the mirror! My BP struck 2 years ago at age 24. I have the exact same recovery...80% with synkinesis. I laughed and cried at your struggles because they are mine too. I do the mouthwash thing every morning. My newest struggle is not being able to enjoy a lollipop without drooling..grrr! I finally came to terms with my BP about 6 months ago. It was a long process. Oh and I often wonder about the aging thing...I think I should get some wrinkle cream for one side!

  • i have it!! it's been 3 years. and every time i think about it i cry,i'm 24 years old, y eso me desmadro la vida!!!!

  • it is amazing, i am at about 8 months recovery and i am at the same spot in my healing process. you dont realize just how vain you are until this hits lol! i got it a few days after giving birth to my daughter in october so my case was pregnancy induced they believe...i hope to one day be completely recovered as well but i am learning how to train myself to appear more symmetrical, and nobody noticed to begin with, except when i first got it. i hope yours fixes itself too, i feel better now!!

  • what exactly is bells palsy

  • like your videos. made me think about how much i have recovered. i've had bells palsy for 2yrs n 9months now, and have recovered about 85%.

had given up medication n exercises but your videos have inspired me to start again...get rid of it once and for all.

you are right about the face jamming bit, still happens.

Ayurvedic treatment - massaging with a mixture of oils, really helped me recover even though i started aftr 1 yr. so if ny1 wants details just mail me.

God bless and get well soon.

  • How did you "get" Bells palsy?

Or did it develop over time.'You truely are a role model.

I don't have b.p. But you inspire me.

    And you're beautiful.

  • you get Bells palsy just randomly...you can just wake up one morning and you have it

  • Im 17 and this is my third case of bells palsy. It was starting to get better (this is my 10th month) but just yesterday my head starting hurting again, and now my eye is begining to droop. Its nice to see your videos, and know that im not the only one and i can def live with this. you give me hope.

  • Your videos inspired me to feel good about myself and to have hope when BP first affected me July 31, 2007. I am about 80% of the way into my recovery and have many of the issues you've mentioned in this video. THANK YOU, for sharing your experience and for helping me to find my strength ~ especially in the beginning. It was just nice not to have to feel alone. BP isn't life threatening, but it sure can cripple you emotionally.

    Again, thank you.

    Michelle

  • I love your last phrase... very well formulated.... "it sure can cripple you emotionnally." Well said and take care.

  • im turning 16 and my BP has been around for like 2 months and most people dont even notice now. I'm probably like 60 percent better but still nothings really changed since the first couple of weeks, and i want to know if my face will eventually get better or is it perminent??

  • To be honest - everybody has a different recovery.

  • Im 13 almost and im on my 93 day. I have a question though for every one with bells palsy-When you first got it was it painfull because mine was sooooo sore for the ist two months but it stoped so it doesnt hurt as much. I didnt think it waould last so long and i feel so bad for you and SexAndCandyBaby923 because its lasted so long. And I feel stupid for complaining when im only on the beggining of month four.

  • It hurt a bit at the beginning and me too, I never thought it would last so long :) Hold on! THings get better

  • Thanks! And I'm really happy right now because I can smile the right way almost! {:

Still Can't Play My Clarinet though (our concerte is in 5 days)But YAY ANYWAY!

  • im 14 and i just got bell palsy yesterday i hope it goes away sooon its horribly annoying.

i hope you get better too :]

  • Is your vision blurred in your effected eye? Because mine is and it's driving me insane.

  • Unfortunatly it is for me as well.

  • I have BP I'm on year like 6 and I'm probably 85% recovered but I'm so shocked at how many people have it I never would have thought so because I have never met someone else with it. It's hard to deal with but like You said when you think about all the other things you could have it makes you kind of grateful.

  • you know thats funny i got bp right after i got married like a month later,, and when i got it i was at the beach, i got sunburned real bad and the dr said that could have brought it on it went away with steroids and antibiotics it went awy in 3 months... evrey now in then i still get twitches and pain but all my feeling is there andevreything works normal just evrey now and then i still get spasms

  • thank you for doing these. i'm about to finish my 4th week with bell's palsy and i was starting to get discouraged because not much has changed. after watching your videos i'm feeling not so alone. i just can't wait until i can smile again.

  • Misery loves its company... good words. RJS ROCKS!

Keep up the videos, you're great for your view on things!

  • I just saw your video (thank you!), and I've got to say and glad to see that I'm not alone and that other people are willing to share their experiences with others to help ease their minds about this disorder. I just woke up with BP 1 week ago, and boy, was I really scared. I'd NEVER heard of anything like this before, and thought I must have done something to bring on this condition myself. cont...

  • cont... I'm starting to "deal" with it a little better now, but I'm still missing all the things I just took for granted; smiling, whistling, spitting, drinking without a straw... and most of all, being able to kiss my wife and new born baby daughter normally. Anyways, again, thanks for posting your video. It actually made me smile... atleast half my face. :)

  • Haha I have had BP for about 6 years...and i guess i can answer that last question kind of. So after I heard your question i looked at my face in the mirror and noticed that i have a laugh line on the good side!! Its insane!! But I gotta admit...its pretty funny. Keep doin what you do!!

  • are you fucking kidding me? it's so obvious to tell that is on her right side considering that she can really move her left side you idiot.

  • You are so beautiful. I am on day 10 of BP and I am trying to have hope. Mine looks similar to how yours was at the begining. I am trying to stay positive, some days harder than others. To anyone out there with this, get rest, eat well, take your vitamins and try to find some humor in life. Love your videos!!!! I'm so glad I found this stuff.LOL

  • o.o

You're blinking on Both sides. o.o

  • you are looking great :P

it's hard for me to tell which side, really, im not kidding!

  • i love your way of thinking of it =]

  • you have bells palsy i cant really tell?

  • I can't tell honest to god what Side do you have it on?

  • YOu have no idea how your comment is a compliment. Thank you :)

  • I Think It Looks Pretty Cool O_O ....If I Could I Would Want To See What Its Like For A DAY ..That Probably Sounds Weird

  • i had this condition too

it didnt suddenly come on like most cases

it took almost a week to fully paralyse my face, i wouldent wish this condition on anyone,

it was really hard for me to deal with it as everyone i knew just wanted to see it

i just wanted to hide in a room and never come out

anyhoo i had the condition for about 6 weeks

and im almost free of the after effects

even now 2 years on i still get numbness

on my cheek and lips which normaly pass in a few days

  • i have 4 years and more with this bell palsy

i have bought PALSITIN .. so i have to wait wat hapen

  • I am so glad to see this update. I will try to post a video response soon. We have a lot in common! I am almost at 9 months right now. So much in common. Thanks for posting!

  • I'm just a few days into it. Thanks for the video. It made me cry... out of one eye... okay well maybe it wasn't the video, but my BP eye is a gusher, (LOL-on one side). You look great to me BTW.

  • I had it in 1990 and still have a residual. My brother in law had an accoustic neuroma removed and he has a residual so when we both tired we look like two drunks talking sideways. Thanks for all your videos and giving those BP peoples hope. I have a video of me here where I looked up and my left eye did a Bells Reflex and did a summer sault. I feel blessed to be able to see, talk, laugh, walk, this was a shock but I am used to it.

  • I have BP too,i am about 8 months in and its my second time. The main thing that gets me through is my sense of homour.

    Thanks for posting

  • I have BP too, I have had it for the past five years. WHat comes thru on you vlog is how beautiful you are inside and out!!!!!

    Jorge

  • I got hit with Bell's Palsy in 2001, and it's a mixed blessing. Did not recover fully, but I am satisfied with what I have -60 to 70% recovery

  • This might sound daft but how does it feel when you kiss? My girlfriend of 18 years :-0 thinks my lips now suck, even at 5 months in due to muscles being stiff yet weak. Since last commented on "106 days" my eye's can now blink independently of each other used facial sauna for that one would be good for that cold of yours as well.

  • Well the cold is gone! To answer your first question... Kissing was weird at the beginning. I remember loving to kis so much but it takes some getting use to ever since dz, I guess, and using some new "technics" if can say so. Something my husband notice now (and this is being blunt), is the vaccum sounds I make with my mouth when I go south on him. You know how we can make a perfect O with our mouths.... I'll let you figure out the rest. ^_^ :)

  • Sitting back lol at Shashanounou's comment. I can remember the not being able to drink, the spitting, the face, the fear, the wam to my inner confidence and yes the difficultys in the bedroom! Use thumb in mouth and putother fingers on outside and U can massage and stretch your muscles back into shape..then your O will be more symetrical. wink:)

  • Really appreciate that you have done this. It helps me see what to expect if i am lucky.

  • dude.. it's been 7 years for me since i got hit with BP, still haven't fully recovered. f'n sucks! I'm gonna try acupuncture soon.
