well im german and "das" is often used for nouns which are objects and a "spiegel - mirror" is an object so maybe it was a wrong guess of them an they didnt know it was "der spiegel" ("der" is used for male and "die" for female).

well english is pretty easy compared to german lol

i guess they thought das spiegel was more marketable, its sounds like a little animal to me, not having knowledge of the german language.

@MrMushroom123 Eh, sorry... Not trying to prove you wrong or be a dick, but English is NOT easy compared to German! Maybe if you started learning English when you were young, but if you tried to teach someone German and English at the same time, they would probably pick up German faster! English grammar is odd, and half the people who speak English can't even use it properly! The internet alone is proof of that. I just don't get how people can simply ignore grammar, punctuation and spelling...
