What boat is it? a tabs, quintrex 650 etc. I have an Outsider 685 and it will drive with out rollers right up to the top of the trailer with out winching. 2.8Tones of fibreglass glides on like a dream everytime.
@funkyea44 Looks like a big motor on that. I doubt it could idle forward at less than 3knts.......but you obviously understanding boating.....I think not!
@kiss1972able looks like a single engine outboard probably no more than 250 horse that is designed to operate at slow speeds and be taken out of gear often to facilitate docking at slower speeds. If you want to see a "big" engine take a look at my page, then you might understand why this video shows you have no idea what boating is.
why in the hell does everyone power dock? People think it looks kool but i see a boat in pain. You assholes are too lazy to sting out the wench? that's what its there for with 20 feet of slack...
2 fails = 1. that is NOT a big boat. try driving a 4 tonne fibre-glass 26 foot cabin cruiser on to a trailer at NIGHT WITH STRONG WINDS AND TIDE. then come back and think about what you should do to edit that ridiculous false advertisement you call of a title.
2. its called retrieving... docking is where you bring you vessel alongside a jetty or wharf. get it right.

sorry to burst your bubble but 6.6 meters is about 20 feet give or take.,. where i live in south florida, people regularly trailer 30-35 ft boats, some even trailer 40 footers. so sorry, you are definitely not "going over the top" trailering a 20 ft boat.
If that's a 'big boat' then you haven't been around. Agree on the back the trailer in further and it's way easier to power load without blowing a hole in the sand behind the boat.
@crakheadcorb The funny thing though it looks alot like a lake not the ocean or Salt Lake, UT for that matter. Besides, anyone who cares about their trucks who launch a boat into salt waters will give them a good washing to prevent rusting.
Thats actually not how you dock your boat: 1. Trailer is out to far, 2. Try not to "jet" you boat up on the trailer - it puts "ruts" or holes in the mud at the end of the ramp - thus causing the larger boat trailers to get stuck in ruts - or if the water level drops everyones trailer wheels fall into the ruts.
@dieselplow Absolutely correct. You can back the trailer TOO far and get the truck wet needlessly AND, as in this case, not take the trailer, far enough. Both are wrong, both causes problems. This one also has the danger of putting so much strain on that skinny little wire cable, that it can snap and hurt somebody--BAD.

i guess if ramming a trailer at 5 mph is considered "docking" and "smooth" then i don't know what boating is.

they must not live near Chicago because that is NOT a large boat

FAIL! So uncool!! Power loading ruins ramps by washing away the substrate that supports the concrete pads of the ramp.

HUGE BOAT!!!! what is it like 19 feet? lol
chris000089 8 months ago
That is not allowed due to the mounds that can build at the end of the ramp that other boats can run into! Not smart!
alian2424 8 months ago
i must have missed both the "docking" and "big boat" parts.

Wait until your lower end hits bottom especially on a concrete ramp. Besides the winch cable was doubled up. Takes half the effort. Stop being lazy.

I always submerge the trailer wheels totally. Too far though and I have trouble.

@crakheadcorb thats why you take the truck home and give it a wash with a freshwater hose. lol
