  • man simion cowell can really play guitar!! lol jk man great job and keep the vids coming!

  • I had a guitar like that and my brother has it now. First guitar in the family.

  • This guy is one of the nicest guys you could meet on you tube...he helped me out some

  • Lerxst is the best there is!...Leave it at that.

  • @Rushworshiper92 why thank you

  • I don't know what that thing was at 1:26, but I'm going to leave it alone.

  • HaHa... it's a toy Manatee.... if you read the info you'll see why it'S there LOL

  • I see... lol

Btw, it took me a long time to figure out how to play this song with all the different tabs on the internet, but I play it exactly as you do. My only question is how many strings you use at the beginning part? I only use the last two, but it looked like you were using more.

  • @BigBusiness5 Alex plays an Am chord, so you must included the G string as well. That makes three strings playing C - E - A + the B note on high E string alternating with A on the same string.

  • not too crazy about the distortion,

    but hey

amazing cover anyways especially the part round 2.22

  • I hadn't really mastered the Line 6 POD XT live at this point... was quite a new toy for me and was still finding my feet with it... thanks for your comment Harry

  • What kind of distortion are you using? I have a line 6 and I was wondering what settings you used.

  • This is my favorite song i want it playing at my funeral, you sound great! save the manatees!

  • LOL.

My funeral song would naturally be "Afterimage."

  • Wow awesome. Your really good.

I really had not noticed that so many people had 2112 at the end of their names...........

  • That was beyond words. Great Job!

I would love to see this one done using your PRS Guitar.

    All the best

  • Great job man, just started to learn this song myself.

  • Very close to perfect!

Then again, even Lifeson doesn't do it perfectly live.

It's a collage of studio takes on the album and there is no way for him to play 4 guitars simultaneously during a live show.

I see you also used different takes and put them together.

Makes me curious what it would be like if you did it in one take.

  • Hi Progman, crikey, it's been ages since anyone commented on this. Many thanks for your comments. This is one of my very early videos, the quality isn't as good as my more recent efforts. I set out to do all videos in sequences with different camera angles, just to be a little different from most others. I was also still getting back into the guitar when I did this after many years of not playing. If I was gigging I would make a huge effort to do one takers of course.

  • It's a nice approach for someone trying to learn a song; dissecting the parts like you do is immensely helpful.

I read an article saying that the success of Guitar Hero proves that guitars should be made easier to play, somehow. I think that's impossible, of course but in a way, everyone having access to videos like this goes some way towards that idea.

  • Hello, Mr Uk. I'm really starting to think that I might want to think about maybe one day thinking about doing this song.

    Maybe.

But, since I thought about thinking about it, naturally I had to come over here to see if the Snowdog was gonna show me how it's done.

    And of course... He did.

Great job, sir. Give yourself a high five.

Man... That ending was a real head-scratcher. Are we gonna have to call up the men in the white coats?

    Of course I'm kidding.

    No. I'm not.

    I can't lie to you, man. 5*

  • Hey Dude.. nice of you to drop by again, just loved that party time vid. with the dog. That Thing at the end of this video is a Manatee (toy one I know) and these lovely gentle giants are being mauled by boat engines in rivers so I sort of dedicated this to the Manatees and to Leave That Thing (Manatee) Alone.. no need for the white coat men yet... (notice I said yet).. appreciate your comments...

  • Wow i give it an A+,nice job add ghost rider and secret touch to the list keep it up

  • nice cover! i'm playing this song for my highschool art show! i doubt it will as good as this!

  • thanks very much. The solo part is visually a bit fuzzy (i'm still learning about backlighting when recording) but you can see a close up in my other video "Rush - Selection of Guitar Solos". I wish you luck with your art show and if you want or need any tips let me know. Many thanks for taking the time to comment.

  • Excellent just so well played! 5 stars

  • Thank you so much :-)
